Meeting seniors

I am looking to meet retired seniors for friendship, playing cards, games and social activities...my name is Henry and I live on Long Island, N.Y.

look up.the top of the home page ,click on FORUM. It will bring up,all the topics / threads / posts on the forum .depending on what your interested in there is something for everyone from Forum games to heath issues,travel ect
 
Ken, what kind of weather are y'all having in Texas? I'm asking because I'll be going down there for my granddaughter's wedding near Austin on New Year's Eve. (Outdoor wedding!) Here in Maryland, it's freezing. They keep telling me that it will probably be in the 60's down there. Hard to believe!
 
Butterfly's suggestion is a good one. Henry, if you live anywhere near a community senior center, get yourself down there and check out all their activities. The one near me has all sorts of recreational activities, including games, classes, exercise groups, trips, etc.
 
Hi Henry!

Head for the mall early in the morning and join up with the walkers!

In my area the largest of the malls opens to walkers at 6:00am, the mall has mapped out a 3 mile course on three levels inside the mall or you can strike out on your own.

It might be a good way to get some exercise, meet some people, have coffee, etc...

Henry, so am I. I would like to meet seniors. This forum is the next best thing, yet it would be nice to have a real body in front of me. They have a great seniors program near me. A meal, games, companionship. For me, the problem is that they meet from 10 Am to 1 PM. That's way too early for me. I get up at 8 AM and my meds don't kick in till about 2. I'm not getting up at 4AM for a meal and bingo. I understand that it's a U.S. gov. program, with rules that they can't disregard. But that leaves me out in the cold. I'm sure there's more like me around here, but how do we find each other?
