Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $868 million

rgp, They obviously have friends or relatives purchasing the tickets and sending them back to them by "Snail Mail etc.

Well, even if you're right?...IMO it has to be a small % that do. BTW , do you know? Are you sure?

I can see where buying for someone else & visa-versa could get really sticky. Maybe some do?...but I wouldn't.......jmo

I agree that i think I would remain about the same {IF AT ALL POSSIBLE}?? who knows.

There is really nothing that I want that I do not already have. House? living alone I do not need larger, too damn old to become a "jet-setter" , due to joint stiffness can't get in a Ferrari..:)....etc.

Do not normally play, but if I do & should I hit....yeah right....again, I agree with an earlier poster......probably support ill children organizations , & those organizations that provide for animals . IMO that would be more pleasing than living the high life.

I could enter this lottery?Tell me how.....
i have been known to enter the Euromillions which can get to very high amounts. With that kind of money I could bankroll my rugby club.

As has been suggested, do you have family here? Everyone that buys a ticket adds to the jackpot. So I have no issue if they win.

But as I said earlier , I don't play much myself....and I won't for someone else at all.

I heard that it is $900 million now. If it was structured differently 900 people could become instant millionaires. Not one of them would complain about the amount.

We bought one Mega today with numbers I use and then my husband got a quick pick too. We also bought one PowerBall with numbers I use. Superlotto is the only one we play twice a week and purchase it with advance plays. It's just $1 a play.

To be honest I think winning anything close to a billion would really be such a live changer it would require a lot of planning before you turned in the ticket. I've heard people harass and threaten you for years.

If you did win a gi-huge-ant jackpot, would you post anything about it on here or any other social media?

it will be interesting to see....if no one hits tonight. I believe the buying frenzy will be like no other.

I have enough to pay my bills & buy my bologna , so I think I'll pass.

I will buy another ticket.

Spending that $2.00 makes me think about what a wonderful person I will be and all of the good I can do with all of that money.

Funny that I don't spend much time thinking about how wonderful a person I could be and all of the good I could do without having a lot of money.

Maybe I don't really stand much of a chance of becoming a wonderful person.

Since I didn't win the Mega-millions lottery, and neither did anyone else, the next drawing is estimated to be worth $1.6 Billion.

Over the years, various lotteries have been making their games harder to win, thus leading to more bigger, attention-grabbing prizes.
Mega Millions, for example, changed its game in October 2017 by increasing the number of potential "Mega Balls" — the sixth and final ball drawn — from 15 to 25. That, and other changes decreased the chances of winning from one in 258.8 million to the current odds of one in 302.5 million.

A person would be foolish to tell ANYONE (aside from attorney and financial advisor) that they won a large lottery jackpot. To come here or anywhere on the internet and make such an announcement would be idiotic.

I'd just like to publicly say now that if I win the Mega myself and a few of my closest buddies here on SF will be taking a month long all expenses paid trip on my new super yacht to the Caribbean where you'll be waited on hand and foot and treated like royalty.

Not sure if you are one of my closest buddies here on SF ?.......you better hurry and start buttering me up now. :)

Nobody won. Think of all the money the Lottery made last night off of all those tickets people bought. Then, think of all the people who are down-and-out and can't afford to feed their children or afford healthcare and just take a chance buying tickets to get out of the hole they're in...only to have their dream crushed. Some people say, oh I just do it for fun, but it's not fun for everyone...not for the desperate.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have the Lottery but why make it so hard for anyone to win? Greed. I know it goes to education, or so they say, but that's overdoing it if you're screwing all those people who can't ever win.

And then, eventually, one person will win more money than they can wrap their head around. All of it going to one person. Think of how many people would be helped with just 1 million each of that total!! There are 1,000 millions in one billion.

I'm taking my mom tomorrow morning to buy another ticket and I will buy one for myself too. If you don't play you can't win. If I suddenly go MIA here, you'll all know why. :eek:nthego:

I never did buy the education bull...I know for a fact that my taxes never did go down because of it. Which BTW was part of the bull, that sold it here in Ohio back the late 60's when it was first sold to the public.

I have no desire for such opulence but it is beautiful . Can't imagine what the price tag is?
