I once babysat a neighbor teenager's new kitten, while he and his family went out for a couple of hours. I promptly lost the kitten, and had half the neighborhood looking for her. The boy came home, and I had to admit the terrible truth to him.

He and I spent some more time looking for her. Just at the moment he said, "No, she's not here," we heard a mew and there she was, all sleepy looking. No idea where she'd been!
