Members of Your High School Class That Have Passed

A notable couple both died some years ago at about age 60. Both very nice. Never into drugs or alcohol. Quite healthy. i was quite surprised.

The 55th was the last one I attended. It was a small town so my classmates were also my neighbors. In fact the Friday night get together was in a little bar (once a tearoom) next to my grandfather's house. The old homestead and my sister's house were within a block. So it was like old home week and I enjoyed it.

Of the two old friends I connected with, one has passed and the other has dementia.

Didn't keep in touch with more than one; didn't like most of them (the popular kids) back then so probably wouldn't like 'em now. From what I understand, most of those BMOCs (Big Men on Campus) became CEOs and corporate attorneys and most of the gals because the wives of CEOs and corp. attys, so I really wouldn't fit in with them, lol.

I wouldn't either.

There were 625 in my graduating class in 1965. Now hardly a month or two pass that I don't get a notice of someone's death. It's mostly the guys.

There were close to 2000 graduating from my high school class in my Chicago suburb. I knew but a handful. Most of my friends in high school were from my 8th grade graduating class of 22. I have a friend who still lives near there, and my younger sister still lives in the same neighborhood where we grew up. So I can keep track a little, but even of the 22, I don't know what happened to most of them. My sister is the only one who still lives in that town.

One of my elementary classmates, a kid I highly admired for his good grades and athletic ability was the first to go in his late 30s from brain cancer. He had made it to Colonel in his Air Force career by that time. That death still gets to me. In my mind, he was most likely to succeed. After that, each passing of the rest were just footnotes. I lost touch with almost everyone.

I'm in touch with a best friend from high school. We'd lost touch when I moved to another Province. A few years ago, I saw a memorial for her mother, on the internet. I posted a remembrance, and we've been in touch, ever since.

I sometimes here info of someone from my class passing but have no idea how many have passed. I believe my graduating class had just over two hundred kids and I can easily think of close to twenty that I know have passed, and guess there's more.

Even though I never attend reunions or hang out with high school classmates I am curious about who has passed, and why. Wonder if I can find out.

I would have to pay to find out what happened to sooooooo many people. I have tried to find my best friends I grew up with in sunny Ca.. No luck. Looks like I will never know, unless I have super consciousness after I die.
