Military commanders tell troops bombing Iran Is ‘Part Of God’s Divine Plan'

For some U.S. military commanders, the emerging war in Iran is part of a biblical plan to bring about the end of the world as we know it, according to complaints filed by over 100 service members.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has received a litany of complaints about religious ideology seeping into military orders since the U.S. and Israel began bombing Iran, independent journalist Jon Larsen first reported.
Military Commander Tells Troops Bombing Iran Is ‘Part Of God’s Divine Plan’

I
wonder if the authority to tell the troops this narrative came from headquarters?

I guess the alternative would be to leave the heathens in charge in Iran. Not a lot of visionaries around the world today. I can't think of anything more dangerous than to have a cult having nuclear weapons. It would be another proxy state that would not hesitate to use one.

I think there is a fine line between a commander or anyone of rank holding a religious belief, and even expressing that view in a casual setting (Like a poker game or a bar or off duty hours). Those types of exchanges are permitted. However, sharing them with subordinates in a way that appears directive, coercive, or tied to military duties is strictly prohibited. Framing military operations as part of “God’s plan” is almost certainly a violation of DoD policy and constitutional limits if it happened in a structured military setting, or briefing, or exercise. That's my understanding anyway.

I haven't read the links yet but was immediately wondering
what does it matter how far up the chain-of-command it comes from?
I mean, people have used religious ideological twaddle for thousands of years
to spur troops into action... including some really horrid things/atrocities.
What's different about this one?

*Edit: Oh, and I've read through the Bible once or twice and can't remember anything
about bombing anyone... so also wondering why anybody would fall for a line like that?

Why no explanation to the public, even if limited enough to a safe level of detail, as to why the U.S. has become so heavily involved? (No consultation with NATO, let alone the Congress.) And why not provide some idea of the long-term game plan? (There are certainly high-ranking, veteran military officers who're saying they do not have an idea of what it is.)

If the U.S. will be continually involved in removing backward-looiking, pontificating, despotic leaders, how about an economic projection of what that will cost American taxpayers? And sure, billionaires or even multi-millionaires may not be concerned about the rising cost of living this conflict will certainly bring, but how about an inkling of how your current American administration will provide financial relief to the majority of citizens?

Such concerns follow the religious-ideology justification like a dark cloud.
