Millennials blame their problems on Boomers

Tell me again what is the problem with mortgage rates in the 2-3% area for years. Even at 5% it's still almost 1/2 of the best rate I paid.

There are people in this world who want to divide into various group that fight with each other. Millenials vs. Boomers is just another example.

Yes, I paid an adjustable mortgage rate of 14% on my first house when I was in my 20's.

I'm tired of the "being saddled with college debt" BS. I have two nieces who graduated from Nursing school debt free and another who got her degree debt free. They actually worked before and during college to pay for it. It can be done.

Millennials are definitely screwed as are Generation Z. Many of them are deep in debt from college loans and the "American dream" of home ownership will never be more than just a dream because of the high cost of housing. But why are they blaming Boomers?

Well, we did come of age in the '70s and '80s when jobs began to be outsourced in great numbers overseas. Factories were shutting down and those jobs — many of them decent paying union jobs — were lost forever to Americans and sent to underdeveloped countries where labor was dirt cheap.

During the '90s, housing prices took off and they've been skyrocketing ever since. At the same time, taxpayer funding for higher education has dropped off precipitously — thus, the student debt problem. The '90s were when GenXers came of age so why aren't they being blamed for the problems during that time?

Millennials came of age in the 2000s, thus their moniker, so they're partially to blame for the Great Recession, but the causes really date back to the '90s and GenXers.

So what exactly are Millennials doing to fix the problems they're experiencing? Not a damn thing unless complaining counts as action.
What a load of malarky (polite word).
I have kids in both GenX & Millennials categories, along with most age-comparable friends thereof, and they're "doing" a lot. In contrast, "my" age group that caused a considerable amount of crap is basically doing Nothing. It's like "here's the messes we created during the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and now younger generations can clean it up!" and it sucks.

I grew up picking up bottles, delivering papers, mowing lawns and working night jobs in factories. I was told at 18 by my Marine Dad, " You have 1 out of 3 choices, go to college (instate), join the service or get a job, but you are not going to stay here unless your in school." Oh he did say and school was one degree and not a life choice. We were not poor, being one of 5 children, there were no handouts going to happen. I see to many hiring signs to justify anyone that does not have a disability from working. Smart person would see this as opportunity.

Oh, we are responsible for our own decision's, this talk of boomer, x, y z is crap. If your adult children are living at home instead of working, that's your fault for not theirs show them the door. It's the best thing you can do for them. Even birds know this.

There are people in this world who benefit from conflict. They thrive on it. It is part of their brand to be involved in conflict.

If there is not enough conflict to meet their goals (personal, monetary, power, notoriety, political, etc) they will create it. The conflict between generations is just another example of these folks creating ill-will and conflict where there was very little or perhaps none at all.
