"Mini" vans aren't so 'mini' anymore.

I was curious, so did some checking, and the Sienna hasn't changed much at all in size or weight from the previous generation. The weight changed less than 200 lbs and the size by just over an inch. The new Sienna is only available in a hybrid to boost economy. It has 3 motors (A 4 cyl and two electrics), and the AWD model has a 4 cyl and 3 electric motors. Since it is a hybrid, it also has a battery pack. It probably just seems a lot bigger if you compare it to smaller models.

Just about every auto company offers at least one large model vehicle for those who have either big families, or carpool, road trips, camping, or hauling. I think the term minivan is just used as a category to differentiate it from the cargo vans. Like SUV's, there are sub compacts, compacts, mid size, and full size, depending on one's needs. The Chevy Suburban SUV has been around for over 50 years, and it's huge.

I was thinking the same thing when I was in the car showroom on Thursday.... the HUGE SUV's in there... 3 of them in this massive showroom.... took up almost the whole space....
it was quite amusing when I think about it... because there must have been at least 70 cars out on the forecourt..if not more.. and there was these 3 might have been 4 taking up all the space inside.... beautiful cars, but they all look beautiful when they're shiny and new don't they ?

I like a smaller size car now that it's just me basically but when I park in a lot and all those other cars/trucks park around me
I freaking can't see to back out safely, even with rear view on my dash. Until I am half out in the driving lane. I really wish parking spots were segregated :ROFLMAO:

I know what you mean... I have smaller car now, and I hate getting behind anything big on the motorway with a smaller car... but also in the supermarket car park, I end up with a HUGE SUV either side of me.. and I have to inch my way out to be able to see past them at what's coming....

Good idea for segregation..lol.. small cars to the left.. medum cars to the middle... Giant cars to the right... :ROFLMAO:
