Moments Of Pure Pleasure You know what I mean

I will try to keep this in good taste and not offensive so bear with me. There are moments in our lives that can best be described as PURE PLEASURE. Holding that new born infant is one of them, releasing your bladder after what seems like an eternity of holding it, drinking that cool fresh water after laboring in the hot sun for hours, that first bite of steak that you have been thinking about all day, a totally relieving bowel movement after what seems like a month of constipation, the orgasm that seems to last forever & does. embracing after seeing a loved one after a very long time,

Feel free to add your moments of PURE PLEASURE.

By golly, Lon. There's life in the old boy yet!:rofl1:

Making it back to bed on my wobbly legs without falling and cuddling my head into that pillow after my 3AM gin and tonic which I am about to have right now.

Pure pleasure for me includes, hugging my daughter when we meet each weekend, sunbathing, waking each morning knowing the day is mine to do whatever I want, putting a smile on someone's face, walking by the sea, laughing with a friend, holding a hand

Discovering love in unexpected places--when I wasn't looking. A communion of minds, with friends or lovers. Sitting lost in the beauty of my balcony garden. Reaching someone I feared was doomed, and experiencing the miracle of watching them climb

out of the pit and thrive. Engaged in the wonder of spontaneous play, and irreverent laughter. Seeing life as a poem, sometimes painful, but always precious. Belonging to the chain of hands, the community that contains us all.

Waking up at dawn to a beautiful sunrise, while birds begin their daily chirps outside my window. Then a delicious cup of cafe au lait.

As a hedonist it is hard tp single one or two out, and it depends on at what age and stage of course...

I remember many years ago, after my ex-wife and I decided to divorce. We were still friends, and often went out to eat together. We went to Pat's Pizza in Lewiston, ME. I ordered my usual "meat lover's pizza." I never remembered the correct name. I decided to order Coors Lite beer to go with the pizza. I hadn't drank much alcohol for over 30 years. Coors beer reminded me of my military training in Ft Sill, OK, back in 1970. We drank a lot of Coors beer off-duty to help us cope with the stress. I had my first bite of the pizza, and sip of Coors Lite. It was like sheer Heaven. The combination of flavors made me ecstatic.

I've had a similar experience at Gritty's Pub in Auburn, ME. Gritty's was my favorite brewery-restaurant in Auburn ME. I'd order a smoke burger platter and their IPA craft brew. Each bite, and sip flooded me with satisfaction. I moved from Maine to Minnesota a couple years ago. I haven't yet searched for a new eating place to see if I can duplicate that ecstatic eating experience. The closest thing so far is Snuffy's Malt Shop in Shoreview, MN. My parents live near Snuffy's. I only go there when they come to Hastings, and bring me to Shoreview for a visit.

Holding my new born son was right up there, as was holding my little grandchildren for the first time when we went to England.

Being on vacation and waking up to a gorgeous sunrise over a beautiful vista.

Being in the Canadian Rockies.

A last minute victory by your favorite team (think Patriots over the Seahawks in a recent SuperBowl) when defeat seemed all but certain.

The first cup of coffee in the morning.

Sipping on one right this moment with the sun shining through the window and the house really quiet.

When my son was a newborn, I'd get up with him early in the morning so my wife could sleep. She wasn't breast feeding him, so I'd sit with him in our brown rocking recliner with a bottle for him and a cup of coffee for me, just starting our day together.

Thinking a little more down to earth here, like the original post ....

Scratching certain insect bites. Chiggers are the best/worst. It never quits. You have to make yourself stop. Got a few right now. :playful:

I was going to attempt posting something rivaling what Shalimar wrote, but I gotta say: Right after graduating from Army basic training at Ft Ord, in Dec. 1969, myself and a couple buddies were enjoying a burger and a beer at one of the base outdoor snackbars. Whoa, talk about pure pleasure!

....we were so busy during basic training, I don't really have much recollection of eating in the mess hall. Another moment of pure pleasure is having a cup or Army coffee(and a cigarette), trucked out to us while on the rifle ranges, in basic training.

tnthomas, yeah, I remember some simple things were total pleasure when in the Army. C-Rations were often wonderful. Some of us had favorites, and could trade lots of stuff for the more popular meals, etc.

You knew what the good things in life are. One of the best things about getting old is having the time to remember all of the good stuff. You have to be aware of time passing and make those memories when you're young.
