Money does grow on (in) trees

CSIRO -Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation - Australia - discovered that eucalyptus trees in the Kalgoorlie region of Western Australia draw up gold particles from the earth via their root system and depositing it in their leaves and branches.
Searching for gold-bearing gum leaves is providing a cost-effective and more environmentally-friendly approach to pinpointing gold deposits beneath the surface.

Kind of a weird story, but it does kind of tie in with money growing on trees, or in this case in bushes.

I have a great Uncle that lives in Ft. Lauderdale in a luxury seniors development. This is a beautiful place and does not have any mobile homes or prebuilt housings, but does have a large professional golf course within its boundaries. Most parts of Ft. Lauderdale is beautiful. They do a much better job of keeping things looking bright and fresh than the west coast of Florida does.

It's probably been close to 20 years ago when my Uncle called me just to talk. It was then that he told me this story about his neighbor across the street who told him the following story. (Confused yet?) Anyway, the neighbor said that he has to walk out to his mailbox early every morning to get his newspaper. One morning, on the walk back to his house from the mailbox, he noticed what he thought to be a large shopping bag stuck in behind his bushes. He said at first, he could hardly make it out, but when he was able to pull the bushes back, he saw it was in fact a shopping bag. The neighbor decided to reach behind the shrubbery and pull out the bag. When he did this, he noticed that something was in the bag. When he looked inside, he saw money and lots of it. I still don't know how much. For whatever reason, the neighbor won't tell anyone.

My uncle said he didn't know what to do and was going to go see my Uncle and ask him what he thought he should do. My Uncle is a retired sheriff from Illinois. However, instead, he decided to just hand it over to the police. He thought maybe someone robbed a bank and wanted to stash the bag until things cooled down. Why he decided to go into a senior community, he didn't know, unless he thought it would be the last place cops would look.

The cops took the money and sat on his patio to count it and then gave this man a receipt. He thought if the money went unclaimed, it would go back to him. He hadn't heard from anyone in months, so he decided to call the police and ask about the found cash. The cops told him that they thought the money was from drug deals, which meant that they could confiscate it and keep it for their own use, meaning the police department. The neighbor was not a very happy man after that conversation. Maybe honesty isn't always the best policy. (Just kidding.)

A human body is composed of many elements. One of the lesser know elements is actually Gold. An average person's body weighing 70 kilograms would contain a total mass of 0.2 milligrams of gold. The trace amount of Gold if turned a solid cube of purified gold will make a cube of 0.22 millimeters in measurement.

"Most parts of Ft. Lauderdale is beautiful. They do a much better job of keeping things looking bright and fresh than the west coast of Florida does." Before I married my second husband, I traveled solo to Fort Lauderdale a couple of times. I liked it and felt comfortable and safe there. I haven't been back in decades though.

Ok, so now I finally have learned where our governments get all that cash from they love to spend. Now, I understand why they "don't give a hoot" about our tremendous deficit. They have know all the time that money grows on trees. You never have to worry about paying any back; just wait until the next crop. Life is wonderful with rose-coloured glasses on all the time.

You would really love it. The Harbor Park area is especially nice. The beaches are also especially nice and I have found the people to be more friendly than the west coast. Just watch out for the gators, so be careful when around the canals or any fresh water.

Sometimes I have wondered if someone found lots of money especially drug money instead of it being used again, he should just set it on fire and burn it. If it would actually help the general economy.

If I did go back, I would stay in the hotel district. I wonder if that's changed. The hotels used to be across the street from the beach area. But since my Honorary Son lives in Tampa, I'd go there and stay with him and his fiancee. I took the train down in 2019, three weeks after my husband passed. They took me to the beaches (separately, then together) and showed me a great time. My HS even took me to hear live Jazz. It's better than being alone that far from home although I have no qualms about traveling solo.

Some, well a lot, of the old hotels and the mom and pop hotels have been replaced with the larger, more modern hotels. Ft. Lauderdale Beach is still as nice as it ever was. Over in Tampa, not so nice. Crime has become a real problem, but not as bad as New York or Chicago. If you go about 20 miles west to Clearwater, you can enjoy one of the top beaches in the U.S.
