Monkey Pox - should we worry?

So now the media headlines are warning us of this new threat. It sounds like a sexually transmitted disease to me.
In which case do most of us really need to worry? The trouble is these viruses mutate and become transmissible in other ways. Anyway it looks very nasty and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I hope it doesn't mean vaccinations for us all are on the way, again.

Exactly this might be the plan of this new plandemic. I would never get a jab with a mRNA 'vaccine'.

Did you know that the man who announced the "highest level of alert for mpox", Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, is a highly controversial figure in his home country Ethiopia?

"Human rights activist Kassahun Adefris told DW (Deutsche Welle, a German broadcasting corporation for people abroad) at the time that he was concerned about Tedros' appointment: “While he was health minister, many people lost their lives because he covered up cholera epidemics,” Adefris said. “From my point of view, it is very questionable to nominate someone for these posts who commits such mistakes.” The human rights organization Human Rights Watch also criticized Tedros during his campaign for the new post for working for an authoritarian state that takes repressive action against political opponents and journalists." (translated with deepl.com; below the German link)
"Dr. Tedros" - Der umstrittene WHO-Chef – DW – 20.04.2020

Below an English article on accusations against Tedros:

Would you really trust this man who is linked to Gavi (the vaccine alliance of Bill Gates)?

From what I’ve read, my risk would be extremely low but I’m still concerned about the possibility of others being impacted.

I would consider a vaccination if that is recommended for my age and circumstances.

Do what you believe is right for you and the people you care about.
Me too, I trust the medical experts to give me sound advice.

It does look like an awful disease, I hope that the world pulls together and eradicates it.

Well, if it does become a significant problem, sooner or later there will be a vaccination. I'd rather get a shot than a fatal illness. Unfortunately, some may get the illness before the shot becomes available.

Damn this thing, I absolutely can't go through all that fear and stress again.

What if it really is contagious through breathing near anyone?

This isn't the first time we've heard of monkeypox.

While smallpox was eradicated in 1980, mpox continues to occur in countries of central andwest Africa. Since May 2022, cases have also been reported from countries without previously documented mpox transmission outside the African region.

While there is some overlap between contagious and infectious diseases, contagious generally requires closer contact than breathing near someone but infectious doesn't.
EDIT: a quick search suggests mpox has a mortality rate of about 5.5%. It's generally contagious but can also be infectious, but rarely is.

AI didn't know about overlap, but he says:
Monkeypox, also known as mpox, is both infectious and contagious:

Infectious: It is caused by the monkeypox virus, which can spread from animals to humans and between humans
Contagious: It spreads through close, personal contact with an infected person, including direct skin-to-skin contact, respiratory droplets, and contact with contaminated objects like clothing or bedding
So, monkeypox can be transmitted through both direct and indirect contact, making it important to take precautions if you are around someone who is infected.

The last Monkey Pox alert kind of faded away. Considering it mostly affects sexually active people, is not airborne and is not widespread here in the states but mostly found in Africa, I wouldn't worry. Yes, viruses do mutate, but HIV has been around for decades and still hasn't mutated to become airborne.

It's not only a sexually transmitted disease - it can travel through the air.

Should you worry? Well, there will be those who claim it's a "plandemic", but that's foolish, imo. Instead, you're being warned. For me, I'm not at all worried. I don't see how I could be in danger. But the warning is for a global audience, and for those that are, it could save someone a lot of problems.

this is looking like a really nasty virus I hope it doesn’t spread further
It was mostly a sexually transmitted disease but it mutated , and now is transmissible without contact
Ugh and I read the first case out of Africa popped up I believe in the uk? Read that today it has me honestly worried

Just my opinion, but I suspect many of the anti vaxers are just afraid of needles, but ashamed to admit it. If and when a monkeypox vaccine is available I will be the first in line. I am currently up to date with a Covid booster and the latest flu vaccine. And…

“Routine vaccines linked with lower Alzheimer's risk“

And more if you want it.
Afraid? Ashamed? Should be a matter of preference without judgment in the U.S. Personally I've managed to avoid vaccinations, which contain mercury and other toxins including viruses and God knows what is in the drugs today which may cause dementia --or may not. I'll just stay home as a precaution to keep us both safe, and so as not to get rocks thrown at me. Other than that, I ❤️ needles.

What good does worry do?

I am confident that the appropriate health authorities are watching this disease. Others are studying it and working on ways to deal with it should it become a problem.

I'll listen to the experts and will be guided by their expertise.

Australians are being alerted to mpox because there have been 93 notifications of mpox in NSW since June 1. NSW Health is asking people who may be at risk of mpox to stay on the lookout for symptoms

A free vaccine can be administered to those considered to be at higher risk of developing mpox.

Mpox has also been detected in other Australian states - Victoria recording a total of 190 cases since May. Queensland Health has recorded 22 cases so far this year.

I'm only preparing in case they shut the world down again. Have a lot of stuff on hand like OTC meds. The pox looks nasty. I wouldn't want that on me but I don't want an mRNA shot either I'm more apprehensive about that. If they bring back mask laws I'll kill myself.

No mRNA for me also. No reason to kill yourself, just disobey!:)

The German Covid protocols (of secret meetings of the government with officials of the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut and the Robert-Koch-Institut; the latter resembles the CDC in the U.S.) got leaked completely some weeks ago and revealed that there was ablolutely no medical(!) reason for mask mandates, lockdowns and all other measures. It was all political, since the government even against better judgement forced the institutes to provide reasons for the measures!!!

I won't wear a mask anymore! During the Covid plandemic most Germans were well-behaved and wore masks, including myself, although I didn't like it. But I noticed that a lot of migrants and especially young people of Turkish ancestry simply refused to do this. I sometimes used the subway of a larger city and despite mask mandates they didn't wear it. Kudos to them!

The keyword is "civil disobedience". Think of Henry David Thoreau.
