The movie , about the future, came out in 1968- 56 years ago. It's kind of weird, the "future" was 23 years ago in 2001.

I can remember seeing 2001 in a theater those many long years ago. Their vision of the future was considered dazzling at the time, even if the movie through the prism of the present was rather boring. As for the monoliths…
