More republican "religious" hypocrisy

This Huckabee support of a child molester may fry his political ambitions for a run for president. Huckabee criticizes President Obama for allowing his girls to listen to Beyonce's music but supports a child molester. The comments all over the internet social media is killing Huckabee.

Hypocrite Mike Huckabee Criticized Obama's Parenting But Supports Molester Josh Duggar

Hypocrite Mike Huckabee criticized President and First Lady Obama’s parenting because they allow their daughters to listen to Beyonce, but he is supporting Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, the parents who covered up their son’s acts of sexual abuse.
In an interview with People, Huckabee criticized President and First Lady Obama’s parenting because they allow their daughters to listen to Beyonce. Huckabee said, “That’s the whole point. I don’t understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything – how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school and making sure they’re kind of sheltered and shielded from so many things – and yet they don’t see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyoncé, who has sort of a regular key to the door” of the White House.”
In Huckabee’s view, the Obamas are bad parents because they let their daughters listen to Beyonce, but apparently Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar cover up of their son’s molestation of female family members is more in line with his kind of parenting.

While defending Josh Duggar, Huckabee wrote, “Janet and I want to affirm our support for the Duggar family. Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, ‘inexcusable,’ but that doesn’t mean ‘unforgivable.’ He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story. Good people make mistakes and do regrettable and even disgusting things. The reason that the law protects disclosure of many actions on the part of a minor is that the society has traditionally understood something that today’s blood-thirsty media does not understand—that being a minor means that one’s judgement is not mature.

No one needs to defend Josh’s actions as a teenager, but the fact that he confessed his sins to those he harmed, sought help, and has gone forward to live a responsible and circumspect life as an adult is testament to his family’s authenticity and humility. Those who have enjoyed revealing this long ago sins in order to discredit the Duggar family have actually revealed their own insensitive bloodthirst, for there was no consideration of the fact that the victims wanted this to be left in the past and ultimately a judge had the information on file destroyed—not to protect Josh, but the innocent victims. Janet and I love Jim Bob and Michelle and their entire family. They are no more perfect a family than any family, but their Christian witness is not marred in our eyes because following Christ is not a declaration of our perfection, but of HIS perfection. It is precisely because we are all sinners that we need His grace and His forgiveness. We have been blessed to receive God’s love and we would do no less than to extend our love and support for our friends. In fact, it is such times as this, when real friends show up and stand up. Today, Janet and I want to show up and stand up for our friends. Let others run from them. We will run to them with our support.”

In Huckabee world, the Obamas deserve criticism for raising good kids that are never in trouble while the Duggars deserve support for covering up and hiding their son’s acts of sexual abuse.
Mike Huckabee’s hypocrisy deserves to be called out. Many conservatives held up the Duggars as their vision of the ideal family while spewing hatred towards the Obamas. The Duggars covered up sexual abuse. What they did wasn’t just bad parenting, it was criminal.
Mike Huckabee owes President Obama an apology.

It would seem TLC have cancelled the Duggar show.

You know, I could never get into that show, it just didn't sit well with me...I tried a couple of times but I couldn't shake off a feeling of something not all rosy in the the Rose garden..

Have a watch of this video, it's being suggested that Oprahs' network knew about josh Duggars' molestation for years (since 2006) but they are neither admitting nor denying the fact....

I don't think Huckabee had any chance anyway, he's at the bottom of the barrel, IMO. I didn't know anything about Dugger, and would have never watched that show. After reading a bit about him, I see this man with good christian family values is against gays, etc. Well, at least his god forgives him, that all that matters to them. Too bad they all breed like rabbits.

My feelings exactly, HD. The Duggars always gave me a creepy feeling.

I also found the Duggar show uncomfortable to watch. Such forced wholesomeness never seemed natural to me, but I thought perhaps I was being unnecessarily cynical. Hmm. Perhaps not. What a sham.

Well they are off the air now.

[h=1]TLC Yanks '19 Kids and Counting' After Josh Duggar Molestation Confession[/h]celebrity.yahoo.com/blogs/celeb-news/tlc-yanks--19-kids-and-counting--after-josh-duggar-molestation-confession-184115564.html

The network issued the following statement on Friday: "Effective immediately, TLC has pulled all episodes of 19 Kids and Counting currently from the air.
We are deeply saddened and troubled by this heartbreaking situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and victims at this difficult time."
TLC wouldn't comment on Thursday after a police report surfaced of Duggar's past indiscretions, but instead ran a marathon of the show, which prominently featured Josh. Naturally, that sparked outrage from viewers and non-viewers alike.
According to TMZ, the fate of the show is "uncertain" and sources involved say no long-term decision has been made. However, cameras have been rolling this week. One day before Josh's past was uncovered, he tweeted out a picture while filming.
This is not the first time TLC has found itself in a controversial situation. The network pulled the plug on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo hours after it was confirmed that Mama June was dating a convicted child molester. Mama June has some choice words for TLC and is even threatening to sue.

Josh, the eldest of the Duggar clan, issued an apology after news of his past went public. "I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret," he said in a statement. "I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God's grace, mercy and redemption."
However, it wasn't just Josh who was implicated in the shocking report. According to records, Jim Bob and Michelle were made aware of their son's behavior many years ago and they did not go to the police. "
We had tried to teach him right from wrong," they said in a lengthy joint statement on Thursday. "Even though we would never choose to go through something so terrible, each one of our family members drew closer to God."
Josh's wife, Anna Duggar —
with whom he has three young children and another on the way
— also spoke out, saying he told her about his past before they got engaged. She said she believes he is a changed man and is "someone who had received the help needed to change the direction of his life and do what is right."

In the wake of his molestation admission, Josh resigned from the Family Research Council, which rallies against LGBT equality. The FRC accepted, saying it is the "best decision" at this time.
There is one person outside the family firmly standing by Josh's side… 2016 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
"Janet and I want to affirm our support for the Duggar family," Huckabee, 59, wrote on Facebook. "Josh's actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, 'inexcusable,' but that doesn't mean 'unforgivable.' He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities."
The Duggars have yet to comment on TLC temporarily pulling their show.

I had exactly the same feeling about the Duggars. Kinda like they were protesting too much. Besides which, it is ridiculous (and, I think, irresponsible) in this day and age to have 19 kids (or whatever their current count is). Their whole thing was kinda creepy IMHO.

No one wants to talk about the bottom line here. The religion these people are raised in, call it Christianity if you will, encourages the use of physical abuse in raising children, promotes a self image of being a worthless sinner, and suppresses even thinking about the most powerful, natural, and pleasurable instincts of a normal human being. If they become a little warped, its not very surprising.

Well, I had never heard of the Duggars until all this came up, but I agree with the above comments on the hypocrisy.

[h=1]Cover-up: Huckabee-Appointed Judge Loses Police Report Against Child Molester Josh Duggar[/h]In the latest twist involving child molester Josh Duggar and the scandalous cover-up of his perverse crimes by his parents, their church, and Arkansas GOP politicians, a judge appointed by Duggar-supporting Mike Huckabee allegedly ordered the destroying of the police report against Josh Duggar right after the case came to light this week.

Springdale (AR) Police spokesman Scott Lewis told the AP that he was ordered to destroy the report by Judge Stacey Zimmerman, who is the Juvenile Judge of Madison and Washington county, where the crime took place. Zimmerman so happens to have been appointed by Bible-thumping Duggar-supporting Mike Huckabee to two different positions while he was the governor of the state.

According to Lewis:

“The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record. As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn’t exist.”

Lewis also said that similar cases are kept indefinitely. In other words, it appears that a cover-up is taking place, perhaps spearheaded by Arkansas Republicans who have been intertwined with the Duggar family over the years.
