Morgan Freeman's 33-year-old step-granddaughter, E'Dena Hines, was fatally stabbed early Sunday in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York, multiple sources confirm.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene and brought to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center for a mental evaluation, but he has not been charged, The New York Daily News reported.
Police reportedly responded to a call around 3:00 a.m. and found Hines in the street with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to Harlem Hospital and later pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing.

I believe she was a 33 year old woman, and it seems she may have been outside to get away from her psycho boyfriend who she was living with near the murder scene. He seems to have killed her in the name of Jesus Christ, trying to perform an exorcism.

The granddaughter of actor Morgan Freeman was stabbed to death on a street by her deranged boyfriend as he yelled "Get out devils!" in Washington Heights early Sunday, police sources and a witness said.

Police officers found E'Dena Hines, 33, lying in the middle of W. 162nd near St. Nicholas Ave. with several knife wounds to her chest around 3 a.m., according to authorities.

“Get out devils! I cast you out Devils in the name of Jesus Christ! I cast you out!" the 30-year-old man repeatedly said, according to George Hudacko, 65, who saw the attack and called 911.

“I watched someone get murdered, and there was nothing I could do,” Hudacko added.

Hines appeared to be topless, said another witness, Jovita Bedolla, 26, who saw the murder from her bathroom window.

The man, who is believed to be her current boyfriend, was taken into custody and the knife was recovered at the scene, authorities said.

Hines was rushed to Harlem Hospital Center, but she could not be saved, police said.
