Morning coffee time... what does it mean to you?

Aside from those of us who live for a piping hot cup of brew, what does coffee time in the morning mean to you?

For me it's my time to relax and forget about the world. It's a freeing time for me where my mind wanders, where no time-frame is poking me, where there is nothing pressing, and where I am free to lose myself in thought.

Morning coffee time for me is my way of easing into the day at my own speed, not at someone else's speed.

Do feel I should add, I felt my question presented an interesting study, in that so many people I know attribute coffee time to shear habit, so I'm interested in hearing from others as to their take on the matter.

For most of my life, it was a quiet time for just the three of us.

Now it's just the two of us and I don't believe that I could make it on my own.

Was always "morning tea for me".

:ROFLMAO: There used to be a colloquial saying in Australia ... Kookaburra's or Dingo's breakfast ...
a yawn, a p*ss and a good look round, i.e. no breakfast (morning coffee, tea or otherwise).

I have to comment on the above...I love my cup of coffee in the morning as well but by the time I can sit and enjoy it, it is cold but I drink it anyway and try to read a bit of the newspaper as well...Noon tea is also cold but still drinkable. At about 2:30 P.M. if lucky, I can make a small pot of caffeine free Columbian coffee and sit and indulge in a mug of hot coffee.

Depending on my mood...sometimes I drink it cold. Sometimes I nuke it. LOL! Once they're cold it's almost the same as iced coffee or iced tea. :)

I always look forward to morning coffee, it helps me get going. With our son and his two little boys living with us, there is always lots of activity in the morning at our house, a good cup, or two, of extra-strength joe always gets me started.

It's nice to know that others have learned the true morning art of savouring a cup of brew while welcoming the start of a fresh new day.

In speaking for myself, I forget about the world in the morning. Mornings are my time to ease into the day at my own speed, not at someone else's.

Some days a few hours go by where I get lost in my thoughts and the relaxation that mornings bring.

I wake up early enough to make sure I get to enjoy that coffee before I have to go to work.

Sometimes during the shift if I get to feeling kinda crappy I get another cup to sip on. Helps bring a :) back to my face.

Aunt Marg...I so envy you as coming from a large family...then my parents taking on a boarding house consisting of many students...and my first employment working in a Pediatric Clinic...believe me, there were no morning relaxation ever as I was duly conditioned to be fast and to this date, I can not sleep in...always ready to go. Being lost in my thoughts is in my bedroom at night plus with a good book in hand. Mind you now at about 2:30 P.M. I do tend to run out of speed and want to enjoy a wonderful 'hot cup of coffee'...must be that age thing.
