Pennsylvania, likewise also has the Newborn Protection Act, which allows for a mother to drop off a newborn child up to 28 days at a police department, hospital or EMS station without fear of prosecution. She's been caught and arrested. For the record, I'm not a fan of claiming postpartum depression every time someone wants to rid herself of a baby. New York has a Safe Haven Law, so ignorance can't be used as an excuse either.
My heart breaks for the baby, as for the mother, she has to be mentally unstable; people don't just dump a child. She's been caught and arrested. For the record, I'm not a fan of claiming postpartum depression every time someone wants to rid herself of a baby. Is she the baby's mother? If it was just born it would seem surprising for the mom to be so active? I've never given birth so I don't know, but I'd think if it were me I'd be in bed afterwards.
I guess the baby surrender places are at hospitals and fire departments because of access to EMS people, but otherwise I'd think a baby box at a subway would be more convenient for people.
