49 Arrested, 50+ Guns Seized in Massive Motorcycle Gang Bust

Police also seized illegal handguns and a large quantity of marijuana, crack, cocaine and heroin.

“These gang members are not recreational bikers organizing local charities," a Rhode Island State Police Col. said. "These are violent criminals who belong to some of the most sinister motorcycle gangs in this country."

Yes, it's good. Maybe no one was interested enough to comment. Happens every day, and we';re grateful for good police work.

Funny, I remember doing a thread asking who does and doesn’t watch their local news or even national news. Many don’t. We do, but mainly local news. Local crime just reinforces our feelings about moving.

I did ask a lady, the other day, “do you watch the news?” and she said “no, it depresses me to much.” She didn’t even know about the subtropical or tropical storm that was brewing in the Med. I said, “suppose you don’t watch the local weather on tv either? and she said “nope, that can depress me as well.”

I said to myself “whatever!”

Wife and I have found out that many here don’t watch local news due to the amount of crime/shootings here weekly.

I don't watch it but read the news online.

I watch the news virtually every day...the local news during Breakfast, and the local and evening news around Suppertime...plus, I read many of the reports on the Internet. How else can a person stay informed on the world around us? The crime reports in the cities just reinforces my positive feelings about living in the countryside.

I thought that the storm was brewing in the Caribbean?

Made me think how we take for granted the dangerous work the police do every day to keep us safe. This photo is a good reminder.
Everyday around here, Houston, we hear things like this. I appreciate it more than most as my little brother has worked his whole life starting in college as an officer, mainly undercover drugs. I used to laugh at him when I would visit and he would be undercover. Had the whole drug look going on with the beard, earring and dirty looks. Now he is getting ready to retire and I am thankful he made it through alive! He gets to spend his last 2 years until retirement as a court bailiff, Judge Judy style. He worked everything from drugs to homicide detective in Miami. His work broke up his first marriage as she could not take his work, He remarried a parole officer and still married after 30 years. I won't consider him really safe until he retires and even then, none of us know what is going to happen with the nuts in the world.

While on duty on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and using the handheld radar gun, two motorcyclists from New Jersey went through my zone doing 88 in a 65 mph zone. I gave chase, but was having a problem catching up to them. There was no doubt in my mind that they were attempting to allude capture, so I radioed for assistance. The dispatcher sent two more cars and a helicopter out to my location. We finally got them stopped just a few miles from the NJ line. Both were members of the Pagans motorcycle gang out of New Jersey.

After running their license, I found one to be on parole and the other was wanted in Ohio on a suspected murder charge. We took them both into custody. In their possession, we found several handguns and several grams of cocaine. One of the cyclists even had an AK-47 broken down into three pieces in his saddle bags. Actually, I was surprised that they even had a license on them.

Great job, 911.

I watch the news but it often depresses me, especially stories about hurt, missing, abused or murdered kids.
