Police said they didn't know each other?

This is a person that had zero regard after midnight maybe just felt like he could steal and joyride....... sad if she was sleeping in her car in a retail store parking lot some do as the parking lot lights feel safer then a dark area...
Like so many stories no details on drugs/ alcohol involved or why he targeted her ........ did he just come across her found a person in taht car was he just driving into any cars there?
maybe if paranoid on drugs thought she could ID him or something makes zero sense for a person to run a random person over

One thing’s for sure; the killer was motivated. Guns make it all too easy to kill people, even randomly, on the spur of the moment, or for no reason whatsoever. To run someone down with a forklift requires effort, deliberation, determination, and getting up close and personal with the victim. The perp drove the forklift half a mile, and then pursued and ran the victim down after she attempted to flee from her car. Quite vicious and sadistic, actually…

That is totally bizarre. I do wonder why she could not outrun the forklift. She may have been already injured. I don't know how fast they go. That guy is nuts. The poor lady.

Well, maybe we should outlaw them as well as guns ?
Do you need a permit to own a forklift? As much as I like being here in Florida, (I am leaving this weekend), I just learned that you no longer need a permit to carry a concealed weapon as of 7/1/2023. I thought about this new law and I would have been against it. Not to make a political statement, but I feel it just makes it too convenient when a person becomes angry to rid yourself of the frustration, even if you only pull the weapon and wave it around as an intimidation factor.

I guess we won’t need Jessica Fletcher or some other great detective to figure out who the perpetrator was or the cause of death here…

One thing about this murder is the strange factors-stealing a fork lift and using that forklift to run down and kill and 84 year old woman. I have no information about the crime, but it does seem to fit into possible delusions from a schizophrenic, suffering from "command" hallucinations. I don't know, but it sounds to me, like he was trying to protect the earth from alien invaders, and the woman in the car seemed to him to be an alien???? Or something along this line. To him, she happened to be whatever was terrrifying him to use a forklift as a weapon.

She was 73, and then become 84???

Don't mean to make light of this situation, which was tragic. It would have been just as tragic if he had deliberately killed her with a car or truck. Why does the "forklift" part get so much attention?

I suspect this guy was nutty as a fruitcake. Maybe out of his head on drugs.
