My daughter shared great news with me and her dad!!

Congratulations Ladybj. Your life is about to become so much more interesting and rewarding.
I well remember being in the same place many years ago and I cannot imagine not having any of my grandchildren in my life.

If I can pass on one piece of wisdom - remember that you are the mother of the mother, not of her child. Support her in every way possible but respect her parenting style and decisions.

Spoil your daughter by giving her money for new clothes or underwear both before and after the birth. If possible go with her when she goes shopping and just hand over your card. I did this for my daughter, daughter in law and now one of my granddaughters. I have done this because I know that a mother puts her own needs to one side when preparing for a new arrival.

Many thanks to you!!! I have to remember, I am the the G-Mom - not the baby's mother!!. I will remind myself over and over again..lol

Thank you guys for the wonderful posts!!!

I am excited and everything mixed in between!! There hasn't been a baby in the home in over 30 years. Hopefully its like riding a bike...you never forget how to ride.:ROFLMAO: I am trying to give her space and not be too involved - but its not easy especially with her having morning sickness. I want her to be at my house until she give birth... just kiddin' - sort of.
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

My daughter doesn't want her aunts and cousins to know quite yet. She wants to tell them in person - which I have no problem. The problem is when I talk with them - which we keep in touch often, they may be able to tell something is going on. However, I will respect her decision but it's not easy by no means. I was able to tell my close friends that she doesn't see too often - thank goodness!
:ROFLMAO: o_O
