My first responder son and the riots in LA

I hope your son is OK & not harmed in responding to the peaceful protests. Good thing there are people like your son that
are willing and able to help where needed.

For me I don't know how so many protesters manage to know & go to places to protest. Don't know how so many protestors have time to protest. It is pretty clear to me that are those that turn peaceful protests into chaos, vandalism & looting.

ISWYDT - and I applaud it.

He’s not responding to peaceful protests.
There is destruction of property, setting fires etc. They are mainly in the general downtown area of LA, with isolated smaller riots breaking out elsewhere.

And yes, there are also other peaceful protests, very different from the actual rioting that is occurring. Those are attended by a small show of police, firefighters aren’t involved in those because there’s no need.

I hope he does OK. The news reports we hear are that the protests are friendly. I saw a police car burning, so I guess their definition of peaceful and my definition are different.

Over in Japan, they spray the rioters with yellow paint, so when things calm down, they are able to find the rioters. They can also arrest them, if they have to cross the line where the police can nab them. There is no good reason to have a riot where the city loses police cars and other possessions.

My son Corey, trying to breathe through the tear gas as they pull up to yet another protest 😢

The riots in Los Angeles are keeping the first responders very busy.

Holding his breath while his crew fetch their masks

Firstly, I thank him for the job he does. Not only the risk, but the dedication such a career requires, and usually for relatively little pay. It's a calling, and we couldn't function as a society without people like him.

some definitely are friendly and they’re attended by a token showing police who don’t need to do anything. When the protests turn into riots, in can happen in a blink, and that’s when other first responders are called to deal with the violence, fire damage, property destruction etc.

Unfortunately some violence is provoked and encouraged for political reasons. It makes calling in the military seem more reasonable.
This is about Ronni's son but there is an element that surfaces & that is why the military was called in. L A police say there was a 40 minute delay in responding to the aid of ICE officers that were being attacked due to traffic. Use of military to protect the ICE officers trying to do their job seems reasonable to me. I'm for protecting people trying to do their job. The pictures show far from peaceful thus the reason for Ronni's son to respond.

No doubt Ronni's son can use all the well wishes for his safety.

I wish Ronni's son the very best. The reason for the military is debatable.
