Have you thought about a shorter cut?
My sister is 48 and her hair recently got super thin and dry, so she bought a wig. When she put it on a few days ago, she started crying. I heard her, and went to check on her.
She said she tried various ways to make the wig look natural, but none of them worked. She was crying really hard, so I asked her to let me cut her hair.
I have a lot of practice because I always cut my kids hair when they were kids, and my own, when I had some.
I gave her a very Tinkerbell-style pixie cut....real short all around but longer on top and longest in front. It looks cute as hell, seriously, and she looks a lot younger, too.
She loves it, her boyfriend loves it, her co-workers love it, and she's even been asked where she got it "done."
And the thing is, her hair looks a lot healthier, and even thicker. You can't tell it's thinning at all.
