Hi Everyone! I'm Kathy, and as my handle says, you can call me Kate but I'll answer to either.I'm writing from a warm, bright, and sunny... oh wait, scratch that... from a brutal 8 degree with solid ice covering everything Pennsylvania. Sad that Christmas is hours away from being just a memory, but I'm being a big girl about it and not whining. Too much.
I am a freelance writer, songwriter, wife, mom, and I was born during the year of greatest cars ever made... 1957. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
Thank you for the welcome, Pappy! I've been hearing about your temps down there, yes! My favorite spot on the whole planet is St. Augustine and I've been there when it was... I think 31 degrees. It was a bunch of years ago and so strange. I'd teased my daughter about wanting to take a jacket along... uh... and she teased me when I was shivering and she was nice and toasty.Welcome from Pappy in cold Florida:
Well, hello, eh? Another Pennsylvanian! That's great! I love ALL yinz folks, even if yer're nowhere near Pittsburgh, which is my favourite city in the whole of the USA! That's cuz my late wife, Sue was born there! I'm a bit of an amateur writer, but I gotta kinda wonky way of doing it, as y'all kin probly tell already. I got ya born-beat by 6 years ... 1951 is me! Which was the best year for something, I'm sure. But I'd have to google wotever it is! So yer're a songwriter too, eh? That's jolly blithering good! Cuz mebbe yinz can help me with some of these tunes I got floating round in me head! But we can do that later, ok? I'll let yinz settle in first!Hi Everyone! Yinz... yep, you know that part of the state alright! Jeet jet? (Talking 'bout Pittsburghese!) Yep, lyricist. I've worked with the music makers 100% online, did the copyright registration junk, got the studio demos done, did the pitching to artists, saw some radio time with never a dang check from BMI which they owed me, and then I burned out bigtime. Some of my composers died (oh my that sounds morose... but true) and honestly at this moment, I don't even know where my CDs with about 50 studio demos are... probably sticking in a box upstairs somewhere. @TeeJayWell, hello, eh? Ya know wot, methinks I'd like to call yinz, Kathy. So yer're a lyricist, eh? I'd love for yinz to read n' critique a few of me pomes. BTW, please excuse the way I write. It's a wonky kinda style wot got developed over time spent on an English forum. I began to imitate their accents in print, n' the rest is history. I'm still a member there, as a matter o' fact. Ergo, there in't gonna be no improvement in me spelling any time soon. I DO KNOW HOW to write proper English, punctuation et al. I just choose not to, innit? Anyways Kathy, I thank you for yer're reply. I was onny joking aboot me n' yinz acturely collaborating anyways. Too late in the game for me. Gotta go write a couple more "thank yinz"s now.
