My Neighbor was Poisoned by Fentynal

I though all OTC meds were in tamper resistant containers now ever since that Tylenol incident back in the 1980s.
That's what I thought. A good tamper proof bottle will have a seal under the cap and plastic around the lid. A lot companies only doing one. Some companies do both and put cotton in the bottle.

That being said a smuggler or person in a controled environment could reseal the factory seal. If the seals are carefully removed they could be put back without raising suspicion.

Anyone that opens a container of any item with a tamperproof seal and it’s missing or broken would be foolish to take it. I‘ve returned an item that was partially opened and there was no problem.

Supposedly the seal was on....but the pills looked different. That should have been a clue.

Today I heard someone shouting . It was her husband who's normally quiet. He left in the car with a mad look on his face. Stress in the home?
Was I peering out between the blinds like a nosy old lady? Yes. ☺️
perhaps she took an overdose of normal pills.. then blamed it on some dodgy pills she innocently too... ho ho.. the plot thickens Agatha...

Others bring it…but we buy it.
That's right! Canadians and Americans love their illegal drugs! Every year they buy more and more. Only the liberal media thinks this is bad. I don't know but maybe it's a way to get rid of the weak members of our society and make more room for those stronger members of our society that refuse to take these illegal drugs.

It's the law of the jungle: The weak shall perish and the strong shall survive.

@Packerjohn I am pretty sure if you did a bit of research your idea was taken up in the 60’s…with the conclusion that the druggies would all succumb or something before there was a “real” problem. That worked out well…..

Many think the anti overdose drug narcan is too readily available. In most cases I would agree but with fentanyl there seems to be too many accidental poisonings to those not doing or involved with the drug.

But yes why help many that don't care if they live or die. Can't help people who won't help themselves. And addicts will not sober up until they really want to. Not because a judge or court said so they have to want and commit to it on their own. They can seek help, advice but they have to actually want it.

Why does the average person need a machine to press pills. Seems we’re just assisting the drug dealers.

This is just one of the ads I saw.

Canada restricted the sale of these drug presses. IMO, they have the ability to be more deadly than guns. ‎I still don’t know why they even need to be sold. Tablet Press Machines

The reported way this happened doesn’t add up. Other possibilities - she takes drugs and had to find an excuse for her overdose. Same thing for someone in her family being the user.
This was my first thought, too... there's an old joke when someone doesn't want to answer where they got something that ended up getting them into trouble... "got it on the Internet!" or "Ebay, of course!" Maybe it's switched to "got it at WalMart?" 🤷‍♀️ Luckily if WalMart would somehow get into legal hot water over this, they *do* have cameras all over and could easily check the story.

Presumably the police will test the other pills in the bottle to see if they're Tylenol or fentanyl. If fentanyl, the story should wind up on the news. If Tylenol, they'll look at other avenues for the source.

When crack hit the streets in the 1980s it was frequently sold in a small vial that looked the top an old school bic pen. They were basically for jeweler's or tiny screws. But when residents saw local stores selling them by the 100s they were banned.

Then the crack dealers went to a tiny plastic bag and now frequently a tiny wax bag. The soft containers actually made it easier to hide and wax bags are frequently stamped for branding. If one looks down at the litter in a busy area you'll sadly frequently see all the empty bags on travel route for school kids.

It was a vile habit and sub culture but yes it is vial My bad.

The litter and damage left behind especially in the 1980s

Worked in neighbors where more of these empty containers were on the ground than cigarette butts or chewing gum
No not your bad..I wasn't picking you up on bad spelling I was noting the Freudian slip.. Vile is probably a more apt description ...however yes I've seen all the videos of serious Drug users, especially in California ( Kensington park ?)

London, and all cities I'm sure have serious problems with drugs altho' I have to admit probably not quite as bad as the USA.. I'm fortunate in that I've never lived in or anywhere near a drug culture, so never witnessed it in person..
