My Nephew Was Shot And Killed

I am so sorry for the loss of your nephew. This is terrible, just terrible.

So many things happen in life that don't make sense. I hope you can find support and peace in these difficult times.

I rarely share things like this. I keep things to myself. I'm sharing it here because I've noticed how caring many people here are. They come out and give compassion to those who are suffering.

My nephew was 30 yrs old. He was the only child of my baby sister. He was out with acquaintances and I guess got into a confrontation with someone. He was shot several times, they took him to the hospital, he walked in and passed away shortly after. Detectives showed up at my sister's house to tell her in the overnight hours of Sunday morning.

My nephew was quiet and kind, spent a short time in the military and had a certificate in audio from Full Sail University.

I thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, condolences and sympathy because I know you will give it. Though I may not be active here for awhile, I will stop by from time to time to read what you share. It will comfort and strengthen me.

I forgive the person who murdered my nephew. I have even prayed for him and his family. However, if he can be found, he needs to be convicted.

I can't be a hypocrite and offer prayers. I'm effectively an atheist.

That said, I'm so sorry for what happened. 30 years is far too young. The world can be a mean, and incomprehensible place. We tend to look to make sense of things that don't make any sense. We look for some semblance of logic or reason, and there isn't any. This should never have happened, there is no justification. Your nephew paid the ultimate price.

Faith or not, life is difficult. I can't pray, but I do wish you healing.
