My new necklace!

The snake is a python called Shadow. It belongs to two of my grandsons (12 and 10), but I am the major share holder as I paid for it. They live about 100 hundred mile from us, and I saw it for the first time when they came for a visit on Thursday bringing the snake with them. They all go home later this morning.

I have a phobia of any snakes, small or large, poisonous or non-poisonous.
Just seeing the picture gave me a very uncomfortable feeling.
A year ago two small boys in a nearby province were killed by a large python.
They were six and eight years old.
The python escaped from it's enclosure and found the children as they slept.
I still cannot get that tragic news story out of my mind.

Well this python is not going to grow much bigger than it is now, or they wouldn't have purchased it!

Many people keep snakes for pets, it's not for me, but I have held a couple that friends have had in the past. There are snakes where I live also, bull snakes, garden snakes and rattle snakes. The only ones I'm really fearful of are the poisonous rattlers.

Snakes give me the creeps. It's not that I'm afraid they'll hurt me, it's that I'm afraid they'll make me hurt myself getting out of their way.
