Thank you all so much for your thoughts, prayers and love. After talking with my niece,I felt a sense of peace,as she said my sister did not want to live like this any longer.Imagine not being able to breathe,in spite of being on 100% oxygen 24/7. She had been preparing my niece for this.
I do worry about my BIL,of course. They were high school sweethearts(met when he came to our high school as an exchange student from Spain in 1957). Married for 59 years.True soulmates who built an amazing, successful business together, traveling the world for that business. Even dining at the White House with President Bush.Avery charmed life for sure-but they worked their butts off for every bit of it.Anyway,BIL`s health is not very good-he dropped to 88 pounds(!) earlier this year due to a bone spur on his vertebrae that was causing him to choke on food.No doctor would touch him surgically.Ended up on a feeding tube. Finally found one who would operate and he is better-up to 110 but still on the feeding tube until his weight gets up there. He is very active in his garden and around their ranch, and of course, has his daughter and SIL right there, but oh,I know how much he will miss Nancy.
I am very thankful that she did pass at home and not in the hospital. She just went to bed as usual on Sunday night.....
