My toaster died ....

I had one for about 35 years. Used it every day for my morning tea and toast.
One side burned out.
Big and clunky but I loved it.
Never had one last any more than two or three years since.
Now I us toaster oven.

rpg, I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a spouse is traumatic, but losing a beloved toaster...... my condolences.
When I retired, I figured that all I had to do was sit back and rest. But as you found out retirement means replacing everything you ever bought with a new one. In the last year for me, it's been car, furnace, A/C, washing machine, vacuum. And the dishwasher doesn't work anymore.
BTW, my toaster is 20 years old, just a kid compared to yours.

My dishwasher quit working as well .... hence divorce ......

It does seem that we buy over the years .... but they all quit at the same time .:sneaky:

I thought about a toaster oven ...... but they take up counter space I do not have to spare.

Yes that is the problem.
I had to do some re arranging with kettle and other stuff
I want a counter top microwave too but no more space to spare . The one I have is over stove. Not good now with fumbly fingers , missing thumb, balance etc., and it is a little too high.

I don't use my stove oven any more...don't do big meals or baking
Just couldn't get my head around turning it on for one baked potato or some other small dish when I am paying for hydro.;)

LOL !! My toaster was the first appliance I bought after my divorce in 1972 ....... It died yesterday morning sniff, sniff ......... I just ordered a new one this morning . I wonder if it will last 50 years ?
Nope. I was ordering toasters so frequently because they were always breaking down about ten years ago I just quit making toast. Toaster ovens last longer and work just as well. The price of toasters when I quit buying them was $75. :(

You'd think a product called Toastmaster would have toast down pat!

After my last toaster died, I haven't found any toaster worth a da*n. On my 4th brand.

Toaster, a must have, get one that can take a wider slice and bagels. I like home made bread and slice it thick. I like toasted bread for sandwiches so it get used a lot.
