So sorry for your lossā¦.hope the next one will be good to you.LOL !! My toaster was the first appliance I bought after my divorce in 1972 ....... It died yesterday morning sniff, sniff ......... I just ordered a new one this morning . I wonder if it will last 50 years ?
rpg, I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a spouse is traumatic, but losing a beloved toaster...... my condolences.
When I retired, I figured that all I had to do was sit back and rest. But as you found out retirement means replacing everything you ever bought with a new one. In the last year for me, it's been car, furnace, A/C, washing machine, vacuum. And the dishwasher doesn't work anymore.
BTW, my toaster is 20 years old, just a kid compared to yours.
I thought about a toaster oven ...... but they take up counter space I do not have to spare.I had one for about 35 years. Used it every day for my morning tea and toast.
One side burned out.
Big and clunky but I loved it.
Never had one last any more than two or three years since.
Now I us toaster oven.
Wow a toaster that lasted 50 years, that's impressive. How often did it get used?

Just wait til your toaster dies . You will be sorry too but we will rally round youI am sorry for your loss. I will offer a toast for your beloved toaster. Sorry..lame attempt at humor.
I stack my toaster oven on top of my microwave oven. Not a problem in 4 years of doing that. JimB.I thought about a toaster oven ...... but they take up counter space I do not have to spare.
Nope. I was ordering toasters so frequently because they were always breaking down about ten years ago I just quit making toast. Toaster ovens last longer and work just as well. The price of toasters when I quit buying them was $75.LOL !! My toaster was the first appliance I bought after my divorce in 1972 ....... It died yesterday morning sniff, sniff ......... You'd think a product called Toastmaster would have toast down pat!I bought one of these a few years ago. It takes about 50 years to toast a slice.
