My Vacation In Pictures

We opted to use our annual "free" (really prepaid) week at our timeshare in Atlantic City, N.J. this month rather than summer because it's too busy and it can take 20 minutes to get an elevator. I no longer want to be there an entire week, so my son and I are sharing the time. I didn't have to check in because he checked in on Friday. He convinced me to come down on Sunday before he left instead of waiting for Monday. I hadn't thought to do it that way so as not to leave Deja alone for too long but it turned out to be a huge convenience and as he stated, he'd reach home soon enough.

He had already brought my suitcase, my food items and bottles of water. Not only that, I didn't have to worry about getting a Jitney or Uber because he picked me up from the casino bus lane. This is our suite which has the configuration that prompted me to buy the timeshare, something I had no intention of doing at the time. It is located in a 32 floor hotel. They snagged my husband and me while we were on the boardwalk. Driving down takes less than 2 hours. By casino bus its about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

I love taking pictures of the sunrises and sunsets. Had I gone out on the balcony where the window is by the bed, I could have gotten some nice sunset shots, but this time I did not. However, I did get this sunrise (taken through the window) on Tuesday morning,

This looks like a much better time than summer! Pretty!

I waited until Tuesday to play my slot bonus credit, which is given to all casino bus passengers. The bus stops at the Tropicana, Caesars and Resorts. I got off at Caesars. I took this a couple of years ago.

After I left Caesars, I took the Jitney past our hotel to Kelsey & Kim's, an award winning soul food restaurant three blocks away from the hotel. My granddaughter and I met there for lunch, had enjoyable meals and catch up time. I always said the only thing that would make eating there a better experience is if they had water views.

Well maybe it was my "wishcraft" which really does work sometimes. They were supposed to open in the resort October first but have been delayed. They will be replacing The Blue Water Grille that was on the 7th floor. Never cared for their lunches or dinners, so rarely ate there. Once K & K's opens, this is the view patrons will have. The restaurant occupies a large space, all with ocean views; this is just a small section. Internet

After lunch, I had enough left for two more servings. Whiting, potato salad, cornbread and I left a little bit of cabbage. For the remaining portions, I had canned mixed vegetables brought from home. Everything was very good but the fish was a little salty.

I walked for what seemed like miles in Caesars, then to the Jitney stop, so I didn't feel like walking the boardwalk that afternoon. Next day I walked to get more senior Jitney tickets then hit the boardwalk. I love seeing these huge rocks. Coincidentally, my computer screensaver, which changes daily is showing rocks with similar coloring today.

View walking back to the hotel, which lays claim to being the "beginning of the boardwalk". It is not in the casino district.

It is Hearlady. I no longer want to go down during peak season, which is what I'm entitled to. My son and I went down together a couple of summers ago (before we got our kitten) and just trying to get an elevator (and they have 4) was unbelievable.

@PeppermintPatty Thank you. It is very relaxing once I slow down. 😃 It is my happy place. Best thing is that I can go down whenever I want. Before the pandemic, I spent 6 weeks there (not concurrent). I usually book a studio because they are all oceanfront and I do not need all the space of a one bedroom. I didn't post pictures of the kitchenette, dining area, second big screen T.V. and console yet. Some of the one bedrooms don't have the best ocean views.

It looks like a nice wonderful place to relax OneEyedDiva! Isn’t it interesting how being beside the water does just that. Did you win any money in the Casino? That’s one thing I’ve never done. Not that I remember anyway.
The apartment is quite large. Have fun !

Water is certainly relaxing and I feel closest to God when I'm on that boardwalk, watching the water with the waves rolling in. I won $18.50, about what's expected when using a bonus. Last time I only got back $6 !! The most I've ever won was $52. I think those slots are set up not to pay too much for people using their bonuses. I never play my own money. Yes, the suites are very large. I've been in even larger since there are a few different floor plans for the one bedroom suites. Here's one of them. The living room is larger than detectable here:

@jujube I am just as happy as a clam, even when I'm sitting on the balcony or at the table looking at the water.

I walked a little more than a mile R.T. (including short walk on boardwalk) to get my jitney tickets. Each ticket is saving me $2.25 per ride since senior tickets are $7.50 for a sheet of 10 and each ride without them would be $3. Even though there's an expiration date, drivers take tickets long after they expire. I still have one ticket from the sheet I bought before these. 11 tickets should last me for three to four years.
