He said they had a very good time. I'm SO glad. He's been battling very painful bouts of Fibromyalgia for several years. He was a failing student for awhile because he was out of school so much; hospitalized part of the time. During his junior year, vowing to never have to go to summer school again, he became a high honor roll student. He tries to take his constant pain in stride but sometimes it is very difficult. He even managed to play sports. He's about 6'6" but he does not play basketball (has an intense dislike for the coach).
His sweet GF faces difficulties at home. Even though her mother doesn't speak good English, my grandson can tell when she's saying something upsetting, which seems to be quite often, because his GF calls crying. I believe they have helped each other through their crises and are obviously deeply in love. This is around the time of their first anniversary too. She's also a high honor student. I was told she fell at the prom but their friends really made her feel loved and cared for and they were able to still have a great time. These two so deserved and needed to let loose and have fun! At first he didn't want to take pictures at the prom, but was glad he did afterward. I'm thinking he looks like he could be model and not just because I'm "grandma proud" We always take family pictures before the proms and we have to take the grandmothers shot (I'm on the right). I love that his (half) sister, my honorary granddaughter, photoshopped herself into that photo because she couldn't be up here to see him off.
These are only a couple out of over 20 photos. And no, his GF is not pregnant. My son jokes that his son is like him...he likes "big girls".
