Name a Store That You Just Have to Buy Something In

Target, for the way the household and personal products are displayed and because they sell Mrs. Meyers products. Good thing the nearest one is over an hour away. I'm a sucker for good lighting unlike the local Walmart which always seem dim (but I go anyway for some items).

Duct tape is so important you could give a case of it as a wedding present. I have to admit I'm proud figuring out how to change the seal on a toilet. It took quite a bit of reading and a guide with lots of pictures but I did it. The only thing I'm afraid of is electrical wires. That's the kind of thing that you really gotta know what you're doing.

I agree that having photos and several good online sources help with household repairs. Good for you doing a toilet seal! I wasn't brave enough to try that, but I did replace all of my light switches with rocker panels and updated all of the electrical sockets to new white ones. The important thing was to be sure to understand what was needed and to not be in a hurry.

Duct tape is like The Force.......it has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together.

They say you can solve any problem with either duct tape or WD40. If it moves and it's not supposed to, use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it is supposed to, use WD40.

'For years I thought it was called duck tape, couldn't figure out why'....

I still thought it was called duck tape Shalimar !

I love power tools also! I can go to town with a saber saw! I also have a circular saw that I have never used but my son-in-law has borrowed! LOL Love that "new lumber" smell when you go to Home Depot or Lowes! But I also love Kohl's when I have a 30% off coupon!

I'm with you there, I got the building bug helping my father build our big two bedroom farmhouse with plumbing when I was about eight. But my favorite shopping nemeses is a plant nursery. I can't get out with only what I need, but a beautiful plant will steal my purse every time.

Walmart Neighborhood Market.

That's where I do my grocery shopping so, technically I just have to buy something every time I go in there.

My Dad taught me Building 101. He wanted shelves in the dining room and a place for the good china. He didn't know carpentry or exact measure but he could visualize what he wanted. He built the most beautiful shelving. Nothing elaborate but it held up for 30 plus years. If you can imagine it, you can build it.

Harbor Freight is my place. A cornucopia of delights from, "The Land of Almost Right". Some items are nothing but junk, many others are surprisingly robust.

Alays a coupon for a free LED flashlight. Who could resist?

Another place that I have to control myself...by parking a few miles worth of parking lot away...and leaving my wallet under the seat...is Home Goods. They rotate stock weekly so it can be a great treasure hunt sometimes. Especially the clearance aisles. One time I found a concrete lawn decoration. A giggling duck heavy enough to double as a weapon.

It had been battered around and chipped here and there. But there was just something about it that tickled my funny bone. I lugged it up to the front counter. Even on clearance I was expecting maybe $30 just based on size. The cashier took a look and said " Oh? Um five bucks?"...Sold, I got it home and gave it a complete repainting.
