Back when I was a kid, noodles and potatoes were served as the starches of choice, not so much rice.

The Eastern European great-aunties made delicious side dishes with egg noodles. I sometimes do, too...

It also reminded me of some of the long-forgotten alternate names for familiar shapes, such as, that

what I'd call Bow-Ties had once been called Farfelle!

But what I would call Wheels..... was named Ruote, and some others, I haven't heard before, that I can recall. That's Interesting!

Once or twice when in an import store but in America we call them shells, maybe other places too.
