To anyone who was even entertaining the idea that the cooked up treason of Boehner and Netanyahu was simply a nonpartisan information gathering.. think again..

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined on Tuesday an invitation to meet with U.S. Senate Democrats during his trip to Washington next week. "Though I greatly appreciate your kind invitation to meet with Democratic Senators, I believe that doing so at this time could compound the misperception of partisanship regarding my upcoming visit," Netanyahu wrote in a letter to Senators Richard Durbin and Dianne Feinstein obtained by Reuters

Oh Bibi.. You are quite the comedian..

I have a theory about Netanyahu's upcoming visit...it is All About Money. He is looking for financial support to continue, and perhaps increase, the Israeli response to the Islamic radicals, and is concerned that this ISIS nonsense could spread to the Israeli border. At the risk of sounding Anti-Semantic, it is no secret that our Jewish population is usually fairly well off financially, and they are generous in their support of everything that Israel does. I strongly suspect that if the flow of money from the US to Israel was tracked as closely as that which US Muslims try to funnel to their causes and nations, Israel would be in financial trouble. Here is an interesting chart that shows the amount of wealth, by religion, in the U.S.

The Jewish and Hindu faiths seem to have quite an edge.

180 Israeli security officers tell Netanyahu that speaking to congress is a mistake ...http://www.buzzfeed.com/sheerafrenk...ials-tell-netanyahu-that-speaking#.rj3J6pzo3B

"TEL AVIV — An alliance of 180 of Israel’s top former military and intelligence officials are criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to speak to Congress, in a rare public stance against the Israeli leader.

Just hours after Netanyahu boarded a plane bound for Washington, the group of former generals and intelligence heads held a press conference in Tel Aviv where they stated that Netanyahu’s policies and upcoming speech to Congress were doing irreparable harm to U.S.-Israel relations and would do nothing to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

“When the Israeli prime minister argues that his speech will stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, he is not only misleading Israel – he is actually strengthening Iran,” said Gen. (Res).

Amnon Reshef, head of the group, Commanders for Israel’s Security, and former head of Israel’s armored corps. “It is time the prime minister listened to us before he wrecks our strategic interests with our closest ally. Nothing good for Israel can come from humiliating the U.S. president.”

Netanyahu’s invitation to speak in D.C., was issued by Speaker John Boehner, who has said he deliberately kept the White House in the dark. The move has angered many Democrats, who see it as an attempt by Netanyahu to use the invitation to bolster the Republican Party’s hawkish view on Iran, while snubbing the White House’s ongoing efforts to reach a deal over Iran’s nuclear program."

"Supposedly Obama threatened", this couldn't be a rumor, could it? http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/...ed-to-shoot-down-Israeli-jets-attacking-Iran#

" And on Sunday, the usual suspects on the right began spreading a story that President Obama threatened to shoot down Israeli jets if the Netanyahu government ordered unilateral strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities.

The story, as first relayed by Arutz Sheva, reported that a “Kuwaiti paper claims unnamed Israeli minister with good ties with the US administration 'revealed the attack plan to John Kerry.'”

Al-Jarida also reported Sunday that “well placed” sources confirmed an unnamed Israeli minister disclosed the plan to Secretary of State John Kerry, and that Mr. Obama replied by warning that he would foil the plan by shooting down Israeli jets before they could reach their target destinations.

“Netanyahu and his commanders agreed after four nights of deliberations to task the Israeli army’s chief of staff, Benny Gantz, to prepare a qualitative operation against Iran’s nuclear program. In addition, Netanyahu and his ministers decided to do whatever they could do to thwart a possible agreement between Iran and the White House because such an agreement is, allegedly, a threat to Israel’s security,” the report said.

Of course, there’s plenty of reason to be skeptical about tale being spun by those “well-placed” sources and “an unnamed Israeli minister.”

For starters, the report claims Netanyahu decided to launch the unilateral attack some time” in 2014 “after Israel discovered the United States and Iran had been in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel’s back.

But there was nothing secret about those talks that had been in progress for years. More importantly, the notion that the U.S. would shoot down Israeli warplanes just doesn’t pass the smell test.

Besides, the Netanyahu government has made it clear for years that Israel would not warn the United States in advance of any attack it might launch on Tehran’s nuclear sites."

Thanks April, there's not enough real life drama, it seems they always have to make something up so it's more spectacular...and lots of folks fall for it.

Very true, April, this just adds to the division in our country and no matter how many times they are proven to be wrong they keep doing it.

I'll pass

LOL, I'm going to listen, see what the ole war monger has to say.

Just caught a small part of this show on PBS last night about Netanyahu, the Israel and Palestine 'war', and Bibi's relationship with Bill Clinton, had to shut it off when they got to Obama. It was an inside look about what he was thinking and doing over the years. It's long, but for anyone interested, here it is.

In my opinion, he is a man without conscience, a sociopath. Now his wife is under review over alleged irregularities in using public monies for private use. The Netanyahus have been heavily criticised for their lavish lifestyle. Hmmm.

I wonder why the democrats want him to meet just them without republicans present. He was right to turn them down.

Didn't he get an invite from the Republicans and they didn't invite the Democrats in 2015? Or was it simply a visit that was entirely inappropriate because of what was going on in US politics at that moment and the Republicans shouldn't have invited him in the first place? Whatever the details, was that acceptable to you at the time?
