Hi folks, I just posted in the weight loss and fitness section, and have been directed here to introduce myself.

I'm 70 yrs old living in York, UK. i guess I'm retired though as a self employed environmental consultant, I keep getting more work to do. That and being a parish councillor in my village keeps me busy.

Hobbies: well environmental stuff, trying to learn French, fixing my old VW camper, and keeping fit.

It's the last bit that's drawn me here as I want to compare notes with others of my age about exercise. I go to a boot camp exercise class called British Military Fitness, run by ex soldiers. I'm not very good at it but then the age range is quite extensive. I hope to chat with some of you over in the fitness section.

Many thanks to all for your welcome.

We did just recently visit USA. We had a few days in New York, then went on Amtrak to Chicaco, then on to Truckee in northern California. From there we rented a car and toured on down to LA.

We just love the national parks and small town architecture.
 
This time we got to see the Big Basin Redwoods near Santa Cruz, and Pinnacles near Soledad plus several other local parks. I guess our favourite is Yosemite though we didn't get there this time. You just have so much space. Where we live in England, we can do sea to shining sea in three hours.
