What is the basic timeline of the Old Testament?
The following timeline of the Old Testament has been compiled with the assumption that the genealogies are literal and complete. If so, God created the world about 6000 years ago. All years are approximate.

Creation to the Flood
Creation: 4000 BC (we don't know how long Adam and Eve lived in the Garden before their exile.)
Adam: 4000 BC — 3070 BC (Genesis 2:7; 5:5)
Methuselah: 3350 BC — 2350 BC (Genesis 5:21; 5:27)
Noah: 2950 BC — 2000 BC (Genesis 5:29; 9:29)
Flood: 2350 BC (Genesis 6—9)

The Bible says that God told Noah to take on the Ark two of every kind of animal, and seven pairs of the clean animals and flying creatures.

Since it's not possible to create heaven & earth if you are within the parameters. Where do those with faith believe in after life something sentient is going to join a supernatural being billions of years old?
 

Queen, I found the article through checking out "Christians and Neanderthals" to learn what is a Christian view on neanderthals. I did not look further for more. There are just too many various theories presented. They are interesting to study, however I'm no longer interested in researching a subject that has been studied for so many years yet still has no "for sure" answer. :)

"Tribe." I've only thought of it as being used by various native Indians when telling of the group of people who they are "linked by blood ties and share a culture." Sorry I don't have any interesting knowledge on the subject.

To believe there are approximately 110 billion sentient souls out there somewhere alive, smelling, communicating, touching, seeing & hearing is something I just can't wrap my head around.

Discoveries now suggest modern Homo sapiens existed much earlier, around 200,000 B.C.E. This major change in our understanding of human existence spurred new calculations and consultations with experts, resulting in an estimate that about 117 billion members of our species have ever been born on Earth.

That's true, Nathan -- as long as a person doesn't believe in the exact words of whichever bible and whose interpretation of that bible, and also all of the contradictions in it and the contradictions to the way that person is living today. I posted someplace on some website a list of all of the places in the bible that *require* abortions. (Sorry for the asterisks; rich text isn't working for me right now.)

Of course, Knight, one has to believe all of this and also that Man walked with dinosaurs. The science shows a very long time lag between the two. After the cataclysm that killed off the dinosaurs, the only mammals that were left were very small. We developed from them and that took a lot longer than whatever was left of the 6000 years.

This is the way of science as opposed to the way of the bible. Science is always learning; the bible is completely static. So, when scientists find something new, they applaud (with the possible exception of those who have a vested interest in not having their work toppled). The stack of knowledge increases. When New Earthers and others who take the New Testament (they've already thrown out the parts of the Hebrew bible that they don't like) as being the exact words of god, they have to find some way to *rationalize* the science with their belief system.

Can't find the definition of "screwy hooey" . Meanwhile in your post #53 you posted this as part of the definition of omnipotent.

I really didn't expect a reply to how Noah kept 7000 animals alive for a year on the ark that was supposedly the way humans began again to populate the earth. REALLY didn't expect an answer to where the estimated 110 billion humans or [sentient souls] you refer to that were born & died went since that "omnipotent" being is somewhere outside what we call heaven.

I could have left out "screwy" and just said "hooey" which I heard, as a child, means "bullsh#t"--a lie. Yes, souls are sentient, as far as self awareness after body death. Physical pain? No. But finding oneself in the presence of God I imagine would bring on an emotional experience far beyond what they'd ever experienced while in their bodies. I have no idea how GOD kept all those animals fed alive on the Ark. All the 'scientific' studies of this can only end up as theories Imo. The most intelligent theorist interpretation of the how may fall short.

Before God judges souls as Saved, or non Saved, is there is a Way Station where judgement is first made/ Or maybe their souls are judged Saved or not Saved immediately upon arrival according to how they lived their lives while in their bodies? Heaven bound, or maybe not.

It could be that the most deceptive of one to not even consider there is God is pride. (I''m too intellectual/smart to fall for that) Perhaps some scientists, who suspect that some things they've discovered just may be products of a superior being, since all their examinations of them give no other conclusion.

I didn't post that number as exact I posted estimate. I posted those humans that have died, so the 7+ still alive obviously don't count. Why does it matter? I think it's odd a quantity of sentient somethings that large & able to communicate would not find a way to contact their living family. Although I'd bet there are those that think that happens.

If I understand that part of your post, you believe that sentient somethings are placed in separate areas. I purposely posted "sentient somethings" because my understanding of nephesh quite possibly differs from you.
