New toy for old man...

Yikes! I could never own a motorcycle.

I mean, I get it. It looks like fun, but all I see is, if you get into a wreck, you are going to lose.

I could never get past that fear.
If the motorists kept their eyes open there would not be a wreck @Dave03

I worked on a guy in an emergency room who was hit by a car, he was on his motorcycle. Not his fault. My job was to get a blood sample to the lab so they could match his blood, to give him blood. I could not get any blood out of him, try as I might. I later found out that it was because he had no blood pressure...he was already dead!

Gee ........ thanks so much for sharing that lovely story so that those of us that like to ride could read it.

Oddly enough it's not my back that is the problem, it's my inner thighs. The seating position on the Harley leaves my legs splayed out and it has come to the point where that leaves me sore, even after a relatively short ride of under a hundred miles. The Bonney well have me in a much more upright position with my knees tucked into the tank. Will have to get used to the vibration again, but I have some ideas to address that this coming winter.

Do you think it will be better on your back than your H/D ?

The possibility of getting into a wreck never really leaves your mind, but you turn that into being hyper aware, which is what keeps you alive. I've be riding bikes now for 57yrs, and I've been down a few times, and had some very close calls, and lost some good friends, but that will never keep me from doing what I love. I think I will know when it's time to hang it up, but until then "Get your motor running, head out on the highway."

No argument here. I'm just saying, I could never get past my own personal fear of getting into a wreck on a motorcycle.
