New Video Shows Thousands of Migrants Headed on Foot to Southern US Border

That's exactly what I did. I did ask. Have you moved to America, and do you know about our border crisis... because if you DO, then you'd know they're not here legally. 🤡 Why don't we have a better clown smiley?

No, you just puked up a load of bile. What possible relevance is there to where I lay my head? I'm sorry you don't understand the legal issue, but if I explained it to you then you'd just fire back another veiled attack, so I'll save us both the time.

Not coincidentally, the same people don't happen to agree with some of my views, so they attack the person not the message. It's a little pathetic for grown adults, but you can't fix everyone. ;)
I actually didn't think I "attacked" you when I called you silly. I think you are being too sensitive. But anyway, I am grouchy today over a CT Scan appt. being canceled. I think I told off @againstthegrain too but who is counting?

People speak English almost everywhere on this planet to some degree; if not there are many ways for humans to get their points across. i.e. almost everyone says "ok"; body language is mostly the same.

Some old yokel is always coming up to me speaking Russian. I say 'English', and they immediately find a Russian speaker.

Ha ha ha ha ha. I love it. You're so American.

You are making absurd suggestions right now. However, I see you're not really in the mood to discuss this sensibly, so let's not continue on with this line of discussion. The idea that a homeless immigrant with no money and food handed out by charities is going to approach people on the street to using "body language", is very very funny. I'd love to see that. Wouldn't it look something like Michael Jackson's Thriller video? :D

I think he may be talking about me asking if he knew about our border crisis. Overly sensitive... yeah, I pick up on that, too. It bugs me that it's only the women that are being disrespected here.

I was under the impression that hiring illegal immigrants is a felony. Has that changed?

Wow. :D

You're not serious? Bars, restaurants, and a host of employers in other industries hire illegal immigrants all the time. Not just now, but in forever. Earlier in the thread myself and another member spoke of our time in Texas, where it is very common. People do what people do.

Man oh man. Now you're attempting to play the sexism card. Is the race card next? I also love how you post acerbic comments to me, and then whine when you get one back. What's actually going on is that you don't like my posting - this isn't the only thread where you attack me - and I tend to treat people how they treat me. It's a mirror, and if you don't like it, perhaps the problem is in the reflection.

Got any more armchair diagnosis, they're always fun.

Let's talk about the subject from now on, I really don't care how you feel.

It's obvious you're having a bad time so I thought I'd leave you alone, but when you're feeling better we can go a few rounds.

Sponsoring 500 immigrants from Peru to take care of sheep & perform the low paying service jobs is different than housing, feeding & providing health care for millions of illegals. Pretty sure fast tracking work permits would be the way to get around hiring.

That set up reminds me of liberals complaining that the wealthy exploit the poor.

From a more recent article
“There’s incredibly wealthy and incredibly poor people literally living right next to each other,” she said. “The people who are struggling to make ends meet have to pay the same prices at the grocery store as the millionaire who’s coming here and visiting their third home.”

Data from Redfin also shows the median price of a home in Blaine County ranges from $400,000 to more than $1 million across its towns:

Carey: $439,000
Bellevue: $635,000
Hailey: $645,000
Sun Valley: $1.1 million
Ketchum: $1.4 million

A county of contrast: Food nonprofit spearheads equitable hunger solutions in rural Idaho - Idaho Capital Sun

Somehow I suspect the Peruvians fall into the incredibly poor.
Here's the report from today at the Hunger Coalition. The take was greater than normal, because they're closed on Monday. They had enough food for all comers. Without much snowfall so far many haven't had much income over the past 6 weeks so I think that plays into volume of food distributed lately, too.

It's always different. Nobody "sponsored" anyone. And it was 500+ Peruvian families, not 500 Peruvians. "Fast tracking" work permits is job of the US government, not private citizens here in the WRV.

There's always been rich and poor here living side by side. It is nothing new or special. It's a world class resort area so prices are high.🤷‍♂️

The so-called Christians that run this state charge 6% sales tax on food even w the state sitting on a US$1.5 billion surplus. The sheep are gone thank dog, what an environmental disaster they brought us.

All this BS you're trying to smear me and the area I live in is pathetic. I worked very hard and sacrificed to live here and I'm proud of it so eff off.

A budget surplus does not mean the State has no debt. The least was Wyoming with 2 Billion. ALL states have public debt. An occasional no deficit year is no reason to reduce sales tax .

Idaho is required by law to have a balanced budget so EVERY year is a no deficit year. In 2022 they returned 350 million of the surplus mostly to the wealthy so they damn sure should stop charging tax on food. The food tax is highly regressive and is unconscionable.

If there is no deficit, that means less public money is spent trying to reduce the state debt by paying out good money on interest payments.

Right now most of them are Nicaraguans, very few Mexicans. So I don't see Mexico trying to stop them. I wish we here in Canada could get a lot of them! We actually need more people!

I have no idea?
I have to admire you for admitting that.(y)

In post #212 I explained that Idaho returned US$350 million from a US$2 BILLION surplus to taxpayers with the wealthy getting the lions share of the payout. They had the opportunity to fix a longstanding problem and they made lame excuses and gave the money to rich. In Idaho for every $100 in grocery bills it's an extra $6.00 or 2 dozen eggs right now.

Then they need to revamp the system.

They will most likely replace the New Englanders that are leaving the New England area by the millions to live in Texas, NC's Florida and Georgia, ACC / SEAC areas. We can't buy 2 dozen eggs for $6 here. Bacon is near 10 a lb.

Did the last thread on this topic get deleted? Or am I being a silly-billy?

Pepper - the tearing apart of the nation isn't down to immigrants, they're simply being used as a scapegoat by particular individuals. It's an easy way to rile the crowds and appear as though they love the nation while at the same time undermining what makes America the terrific nation it is.

Closing the border totally is a gross over-reaction, imo.
My post was deleted, said it was political. I make damn sure I do not post anything political. I did comment on another post that was actually political.Since like your post I did use "reply", so I guess the owner of the board thought I posted a political post.

Don't worry, I had a post deleted too. I don't even remember what it said. You know, it only takes one bored forum user to report your post, and it'll go. Some do it just because they disagree with you. I don't mind, let them have their fun.
