Thought we might like a place to report in as the clock ticks over. Those who stay awake that long anyway.

We've just had the annual 'Whizzbang War' between our two towns. They stagger salvos to give the other time to reload. Gives me a crick in the neck trying not miss any. The damned trees in the reserve have grown and I can only see the high ones now. siiiigh.

It's done at 10pm to get all the tourists' kids to bed early so the parents can all get shattered before midnight.

Back at midnight.

Wodonga Golf club have set off their fireworks display
Could see them through lounge room window in my recliner with stubbie in hand (that beer LOL)

How is Maureen Phants is she well?

Thanks for asking Jillaroo
Opperation / cancer wise she is well
Just can't walk because of joint pain.Taking pain killers which makes her so tired she sleeps most of the time.Supposed to see speciallist in new year to see if she needs hip replacement.Meanwhile I am her "Gofor"

She certainly has had a rough trot the poor love, and now a hip done still if it needs replacing she won't know herself after a few weeks, you are a good man looking after her, how is your health any better?

Well it's 3:15am in a tiny town and some drongos are still setting off crackers. (fireworks) Must be tourists, we locals are far more refined.

Guess the UK will be next to see the New Year in, I won't wait up. Have a good one.

Just went to the store for some last-minute goodies. The sidewalks and streets are a sheet of ice and the wind is blowing hard enough to make small dogs airborne.

New Year in 8 hours here.

What is a Mallee bull? ;)

Here you go DB
Extremely strong and healthy. A mallee bull is one that lives in mallee country—poor, dry country where small scrubby eucalypts called ‘mallee’ grow. Any creature that survives such difficult conditions would have to be tough and fit. ‘Forty pushups every morning Kev—you’ll be fit as a mallee bull’. The word ‘mallee’ probably comes from an Aboriginal language of western Victoria.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MY FORUM FRIENDS.......

Made it until midnight..first time in a number of years. Although, I admit to snoozing for a bit before. Mr. O and I got caught up in listening to the oldies, even danced a few:love_heart:..great steak dinner, couple of whiskey and sodas, then crashed for a while. I forgot about the four pack of champagne splits I had chilling in the fridge..but at midnight, I'm past wanting to drink...funny, in the younger years, I was just gearing up at that time:playful:..LOL

Woke up this morning to a sick pup throwing up...I sure hope this isn't a preview of how the year is going to be
