We always got the newspaper delivered but it got quite expensive. We switched to Friday and the weekend mainly for the store coupons. Soon they let up on the coupons and we stopped altogether. We missed it for awhile but now we are use to it. One less bill to pay.

We used to get two papers, but the prices got ridiculous. Now we subscribe to one online with Sunday only delivery. And, the main reason for the Sunday delivery is that it's handy to have some newsprint around, so I save a small stack. I find the articles are easier to read online and I never have to retrieve them from the gutter.

Remember when papers were delivered by a kid who would even porch them for a tip?

A friend of mine used to say that he was on a ''News fast". Sometimes it's good to stick your head in the sand, bad news can be depressing.
It’s too upsetting for me. I literally can’t handle it so I don’t watch it so yes I stick my head in the sand, so to speak. Nobody knows me better than me and if it’s too upsetting then I’d rather not be in the know.

It’s depressing , is right , but the saddest part is tragedy sells. It’s seems humans are a bit on the sadistic side. 😬 lol

The local fish wrapper is down to printing three days per week with almost no content worth reading. I dropped my subscription years ago. There is no true journalism these days so I dont waste my time with the media.

Not particularly proud of nor pleased with that position but most news available to us is, I reality mostly propaganda and I feel better off by ignoring it.

Our local paper is a joke these days. Nothing much but ads. I get all the news I need (and a lot more than I want) from the TV and the internet.

It's a pity, because I worked for years at a big-city daily and I remember when a newspaper was something to be reckoned with. Our Sunday edition was so big that half of it was delivered on Saturday with the Saturday edition.

The front page of our local newspaper would feature things like a bale of hay, broken down farm machinery, or a rescue story about a guy's rowboat sinking in waist deep water. So when a 3 month subscription went over $50, I cancelled. I miss it for starting a fire and feeding cats on, but that's about all.

I buy a national newspaper Monday to Friday mainly for the crossword puzzles and games, I don’t bother at weekends as it’s full of sports supplements, gardening and adverts

We used to have a morning and evening newspaper now it is down to a morning paper online with a print edition three days a week.

I sneak a peek at the online edition every now and then but they are getting better at weeding out the freeloaders like me.

I miss the days when I could pick up a four-star final edition of the Sunday paper on my way home from a night on the town and enjoy it with my coffee.

This yr I started to subscribe to our local paper,Bflo News Thurs-Sun only, I don't watch the local newscasts. If I find an interesting article,I'll send it to my brother
