Me: carpentry. There’s a saying measure twice, cut once. Oh no, not me. I just can’t make anything out of wood.

Anything that requires mechanical ability. That's why when I do repair something, it's party time.

I would say I was terrible at plumbing since I avoid it as much as I can. So much can go wrong and if you screw up you have a flood. Every connection eventually corrodes and you run the danger of breaking something, and then you are running to the store for a "whatchamacallit" since I'm not familiar with plumbing terminology.

Servicing my own car. I used get more oil on myself than in the container it was draining into and would nearly electrocute myself just changing spark plugs. We were taught all this in Driver's Ed, but somehow did not exactly become my major.

Art and music.
I can successfully play the radio and that is it. I have tried to learn how to play the guitar, but I just "don't get it."

Watercolor painting was one of the more difficult things I ever tried. I did complete two paintings that my wife framed, but it took forever and I had to do them both over and over again before I was minimally satisfied with them. Amazingly, the painting of my cat Kaley and my dog Gracie actually look like them. How that happened is a mystery to me, but the entire effort was so painstaking that I will not venture there again.

I think I inherited my mechanical and carpentry skills from my dad, but if I had to pick 1 job only that I am terrible at, it has to be painting. I really don’t like to paint.
