I'm not retired nor am I retiring anytime soon! Unless someone shares the secret for retiring without $$. Pleased to meet you all.

Welcome from the fine state of Missouri, I am semi-retired so when there is a will, there is a way. Someday you will find your way.

Welcome Lynda! $$ is a must for a successful retirement, I'm back out of retirement and working as long as I can.

(People who say $$ is a must for retirement have never tried living on just $. :) Social Security isn't great wealth, but you can keep going on it. You certainly don't need stocks and bonds and dividends.)
 
The secret is learning to be frugal. There truly are some things a person just doesn't need. If a person can find peace within themselves, that helps a lot. And of course, just winging it. Since we don't know your circumstances, we don't know how to advise you. But there people here in the same boat. So commiserating with each other here is good.
