Now I feel at home here....I see there are alot of us who can't sleep for whatever the reason...

One of the things about getting older for me is the waking up at all hours of the very early morning. It used to be something I would fight and get so frustrated with. No matter what I did though (short of taking something to knock me out again) I stayed awake. When I stopped fighting these early morning wake ups and starting seeing them as a blessing everything changed for me. I now use that time for just about anything from reading my Bible and praying for family and friends, to baking something that makes our home smell wonderful when my Honey wakes up for coffee. And I love researching, posting to my FB page, reading blogs I enjoy and now reading posts and chatting with everyone on this forum. Sometimes I wake up and actually know why...but most of the time..it's just wake up time for whatever reason and I have learned to just enjoy these early morning awakenings. That might not be so easy to do if I still was had to get up and take care of kids, or other responsibilites at a set time. Getting older does have its advantages. :)

After some 35+ years, I am so used to getting a 0330 wake-up call at the hotel or at home for a 0600 flight that it just seems natural for me to climb out of the sack between 0330 and 400.

Sleep problems are not apparently helped by using your computer late into the night. I usually switch mine off about 6pm, and even if I am wakeful during the night I just lie there, rather than engaging my brain in any activity.

I saw a thing on the Discovery Channel recently where a guy said that it's perfectly natural to wake up at night, putter around for a few hours, and then go back to bed. He said that, before electric lights (and maybe gas lights, actually), that's what people did; they had "two sleeps per night," he said.

That said, I love my afternoon naps. I often nap for two or three hours. I'm up late, and I like that, too. If I wake up after I finally go to bed, I often get up for a couple of hours. I totally enjoy not having a set schedule.

Babs, I'm currently in Thailand so I'm 12 hours ahead of EST. However, our Aussie members in Eastern Oz here are an additional 4 hours ahead.
