I suppose some or maybe most of you have heard or read about this story. Dude gets caught pleasuring himself on Zoom. CNN news analyst.

Toobin

In another thread about the retired fireman, we agreed that we may be getting into a new normal with all the lunacy going on. After this story broke, it was just glossed over and treated as another, ā€œOh well.ā€ Before that, a really supposed nice and professional journalist, Steve Scully was caught in a lie and now that’s nothing to make a fuss about. As a society, what once was taboo is becoming acceptable behavior. Although these stories are not serious offenses, both do undermine the confidence of the public, or at least, at one time it did. Have we become so benign to people behaving badly that we are willing to turn a blind eye?

I’m beginning to believe that all is fair in love and war. We can now get away with most anything. I was reading some police reports just last week and According to the Chicago Police report just released from October 1st, 71% of the murders committed in the second quarter of this year will remain unsolved.

I thought about this and wondered how I would feel if a close relative, like my son or daughter would be murdered and the case would go unsolved, so he or she would not receive justice. I’m not sure that I would be able to accept that.

I believe the last few years have been an aberration. I believe we can progress from this. I believe the cream rises to the top.
Ps--I don't mean the Toobin story. He's a guy after all.

Is all of society becoming apathetic about people's behaviors? It's so commonplace now, it's just accepted.
Of course, this indicates the devolution of mankind. Prostitution, adultery ,porn, deviant behaviors; no longer offend
our sensitivities. You can't legislate morality. We ignore and understand both sides of issues without judgement.

Outstanding post. Insightful and intelligent. I am right in tune with you. People really do not care or concern themselves with today's behaviors and goings on. It's like, "Oh well. Whatever!" Everyone is entitled to do as they damn well please and the best part of all is that there are no consequences or condemnation. Yippee!

Actually, his zipper had malfunction and he figured, 'well, no sense passing up a good feel.'
Ahhh, yes. That would be the popular "Wardrobe Malfunction," used by celebrities when they deliberately show what they shouldn't show, then turn it into an unintentional exposure.

Before the 'me too' movement, this probably was the job for a poor file clerk who had to oblige or lose her job.
