Oak Island mystery

Has anyone watched this series? I have watched a few episodes , and watched the presentation by William Shatner about it last night.

What I don't get is.....they [the brothers] and their investors have spent and continue to spend literally millions of dollars on this "treasure" hunt. And first, they have no idea of the amount of this so called "treasure" or if there even is a "treasure" to be found. So far they have discovered a bunch of metal junk in their quest.

Yes I know this "mystery" has a long [300] ? year history but still? I admit, it is intriguing but it sure seems like a long, long shot too me.

Yes I remember the Atocha , & Mel Fisher.....He stuck with it, & found it so.........Maybe I just do not have that adventurous spirit?

I visited it about 30 yrs ago, when there were some exhibits about the early explorations, including some coins and a very old leather shoe, but nothing active going on at that time . Otherwise it was a beautiful, quiet except for bird song and rustlings of small animals, unspoiled, tranquil, mystical place. Spent hours there.
Ive seen their shows. Now, they are totally destroying it irrevocably. Sickening.

It is another 'whoee reality show,' each eposides closes with, 'hey we found a piece of iron, were on the right track.
I liked 'Gold Rush' (gold miners in Alaska. but they were strapped for money, then 1 100k, bit of equipment appears)

Most have a semblance of reality-but, there are massive amounts of money infused by producers.

Like 'Life below Zero' they too are dependent on producers.
rule of thumb: 'Who are the people running the video camera.'

'Port Protection' a settlement in rural Alaska-small population interdepend on each other- best of the lot.

'Naked and Afraid', yea that is just what I want to do: get naked, run around bug infested jungle. I've never been able to watch program over five minutes, it is just too absurd
'Yea but you can earn money.'
'Nope, it is just too stupid.'.

Hold on, Bigfoot is beating on door, I'll get back to you

LOL!!! Yeah I had a beer with him just last night......he makes the rounds.

Don't worry about it, they, the brothers are being paid
to keep it going for the TV, if they have found anything
it is a secret and we won't hear till the TV can't keep it
quiet any longer.

Mike.

I watched various programs about it years ago and enjoy the mystery.

Maybe the brothers have actually found the real treasure by keeping the mystery alive and developing a healthy cash flow from various investors, television producers, etc...

There's one born every minute...

That's kinda my spin on it.......It is an old story, someone got the idea to cash in on it, and that is what they are airing.

The real mystery too me is....where did they find those two brothers? Are they actors?

one brother read article in reader's digest when he was young...started his and other brother's quest

Watched part of one show. Waaaaay too much ado about nothing but someone must find it entertaining otherwise they would not continue to show it.

I quit watching that show after one episode. I compare it to those ghost hunter shows where we never see a ghost because the infrared cameras are usually on the faces of the hunters as they say in a startled voice, "Did you hear that?" "I thought I saw something!" Other shows like paranormal shows and UFO shows are directed toward those that want to believe but like the shows they have no proof.

chasing bigfoot was the best.
group of 5-6 men run around the country seeing bigfoot, from the southwest to the northwest, each week a new state.
bigfoot frequents different states for reason only know to his species.

we only had the producer's statements that they were in different states.
to the viewer, one patch of woods looks the same as last weeks episode.

staying in one area would reduce transportation cost, let the 'hunter's take a few days off, all kind of production cutting cost.

bigfoot (bigfeet?) communicate by beating a club against a tree.
Our intrepid hunter's would pay a local to beat on a tree while they did
set up movie camera's, video stuff...

I became interested in the weekly episodes to see how much hokum the
viewing public could withstand. This was the most flawed program I've
ever seen presented as a documentary.
It ran for one season, part of another, then ceased-one born every minute!

I watched it Oak Island on Netflix and enjoyed it. I'd like to think there is some treasure there. As long as they are not spending my money, I don't mind. I was impressed by the divers who went down into that dark hole. I wondered how much they charged the brothers to do that job?

Agree here, they couldn't pay me enough to enter some of those holes.
