Obama warns against overreaction to Islamic State attacks

"They're a bunch of killers with good social media."

France was the softest of soft targets, Muslim unemployment is 40% and.are discriminated against badly.

I feel the best way to ward-off Muslim problems are too treat all people fairly.

It is just common-sense. People who are teated fairly are less likely to cause trouble.

Added
discrimination, will just add to their feelings of being disaffected. You end-up getting just what you were trying to avoid.

Inspector--I believe that you are preaching to the choir. Sure, there is always that 1 or 2% that act conversely, but we have a lot more good, decent, moral Americans than not. I will always have faith in my fellow American to do the right thing. There is no "fixing" stupid as Ron White says. We just have to put up with those few crazies and react when they react. Just like in Colorado today, how do you know who the crazies are until they do their sneaky, dirty deed?

A very simplistic response. How do you 'treat' people who want & expect the rest of the World to live in their far distant past & sociopathic beliefs, putting it midly.

Hmm. Attempting to address the causal link between poverty/discrimination/disaffection among Muslim youth and eventual MULTIPLE generations of terrorists is not simplistic, but sensible, in my opinion. To destroy a diseased tree, one must find the roots, and discover the cause, lest it infect the orchard, and spread outward unchecked. So it is with people also.

We treat all mass Killer as they should be and all reasonable people, reasonably well.

The people who are in the groups Muslims,Black, Hispanic, and white,so on are all reasonable people. until they show other wise.

My thought was about home-grown Terrorists and the Boston Marathon bombing, I remember the older brother had been discriminated against stopping him from doing what he loved. After which he became radicalized.

Some people seem to think putting more discrimination against Muslims will help us be safer. What I am saying is it will help the ,mass Killer in the desert, find more recruits here.

France has had a lot of problems, with Algerian French living in ghettoes there and generally treated as second class citizens. Some will become radicalized as a result, but here in England the Muslim population are treated the same as anyone else ( usually from Pakistan originally, invited here by the UK in the 50's and 60's) their children and grandchildren have had the same education etc as anyone else , and thanks to very hardworking parents, generally do well.Even so, some of these young people still go off to Syria, instead of university, to fight with the murderous ISIS or Daesh. Then come back here and plan killings on our streets. So, not quite as simple as not being treated well, even when they are, some will still become anti-society.The truth is, there are multiple reasons that youngsters become this way.We are about to vote in Parliament this week on the question of the UK joining the US, the Russians and the French in selective air strikes in Syria, and I hope the vote will be to join in, we are already doing the same against ISIS in Iraq.

Don't you think that some of the radicalizing of youth either in Europe or the USA has to do with the sometimes idealism that youth itself brings? Young people are always seeking an identity.. and unfortunately this appeals to some.

I don't know if it's going to help the US. The Boston Bombers were Cheknyan, not a group we particularly oppress. Blacks and Latinos are the ones we marginalize and they don't have bomb vests.

I was not trying to say that discrimination is the only cause of terrorism. Just that it would tend to make things worse.

Do you forget the black riots. No bomb vest but it looked like a bomb exploded after the riots.

What is the Muslim unemployment rate compared to the white non-Muslim UK residents.

Martyrdom is not revered in western culture and not a thing to be sought after or rewarded in the Christian religion.

It was in the first century.
The church leaders had to preach against deliberately making oneself a martyr as a means of entering Heaven.
It would be good if the imans would do the same today for their flock.
