I read one time that Michael Ripper appeared in more Hammer films than any other actor, including Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. It's only the second one I recall (pronounced, remember).
My grandson was born with eyes shaped a bit like Lee Van Cleef's. His father wondered from who did his son inherit that shape. I laughed to myself thinking "Lee Van Cleef".Two American "character actors" who appeared in a lot of movies. On the left, Westerns villain supreme, Lee Van Cleef. On the right, Elli Wallach, who was sometimes a villain and sometimes cleaned up well as an everyman.

I didn't tell that to neither mother nor father. I don't think they knew of the actor. Now that my grandson's an adult, I might tell my daughter. She has a good sense of humor, BUT it is her son, so she may not see it as humorous. One of the most amusing posts on SF that I've ever read! (Though I can understand if it was an uncomfortable juncture for your daughter, or son?, back then.)
All it took back then to be an indigenous character in a Western movie was some darkish makeup and a scowl.Thomas Browne Henry

Oh, that's great. You have some wonderful viewing ahead of you. If you haven't seen it, you must watch Double Indemnity with Fred MacMurray, Barbara Stanwyck, and Edward G. Robinson. It's certainly top 3 noirs of all time. I've watched it 10+ times. It's even got a cameo shot of co-writer Raymond Chandler-- the only known instance of him on film.Actually I only got into film noir recently. And thanks, you reminded me of how I know Arnold Stang.
I sure do, Aunt Bee. And I still can get romantic about the lovely Lola Albright, who played Edie, Gunn's girlfriend. IMO there's never been better chemistry between a man and a woman on a TV series. Great show. Great music by Henry Mancini.
