Welcome to another week here on Planet Earth. It is Monday the 27th of October, which is, of course, Black Cat Day !

From Luna of Sailor Moon to Salem, the sidekick of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and the immortal Thackery Binx of Hocus Pocus, black cats, dear friends, are not omens of misfortune. They are sleek ambassadors of mystery to be adored! In folklore and fable they dance on the edges of our imaginations, weaving tales of magic and wonder.

So, as the days grow shorter, your socks get warmer, and the kettle burbles, why not take a moment to celebrate these glorious creatures.

How very strange this is black cat day. I went to hang the bird feeders this morning and heard a faint "meow" coming from under the deck. Upon further inspection, there is was...a black kitten huddled in a corner. What makes this even weirder, I have no neighbors for miles (9 to be exact). Therefore, I have no idea where it came from. My only guess is someone dropped it off and it found my deck.

I will go to the vet today and pick up a humane trap. Once I trap the cat, I'll have it examined by the vet. In the meantime, its enjoying food and water under the deck. Oy vey, just what I need is another "fur baby" to add to my "zoo crew"......but those that know me know it's going to happen.
