Oh boy, nervous now, what if someone calls me, LOL

I have my ad out there, with all the young, beautiful women. Well dang, I want to work for someone smart, that knows there is a lot to be said for an experienced woman, LOL!!

If anyone wants to see my ad, I would be really appreciative at any input/feedback. I really didn't know what to do. Everything I read about "selling" yourself says something different it seems like. I just blurted it out.

Here's the link, hope it's ok to post here, if not, please move where you see fit;) Denise

I think you can read it there;)

Oh I have lots! Do you mean for a nanny though? I just have the one reference, but they are in North Carolina and I didn't stay in touch after the Summer I worked for them. I have references of people that have known me since birth. Did I miss a place to list? I thought I checked something that said references available on request. Thanks CeeCee, I'll look;)

Nwlady, I looked at your resume, and it looks fine. I did not see a place where you could explain why you like that type of job. It does make a difference in the personal health care jobs. It shows potential customers that it is more than just a job to you, that you enjoy your field of work. I use to do a lot of interviews in our company, and I always look to see what the applicants motivation was. Sometime it gave some insight as to how far I could take them within the company.

The competition with the young and the "prove it" difficulties with age discrimination not with standing, you should eventually land a great situation and a great employer. Keep at it and all the luck to you!

I see among your qualifications you listed swimmer. Works for me.

Yes, I like swimming, and I would save average swimmer although I think I could actually save someone from drowning in a pool, but in a "Perfect Storm", I'm going down with the ship, lol!!

Thank you Ina, I can make some of those improvements to my resume! I knew I would get a lot of good feedback;) Denise;)

Thank you much TG, I think it will take persistence as you say, as well as just, the right person seeing the ad. I think a lot of people might be quick to talk to an older person, just my "hopes" out loud;)

I thought it was good, but was a little puzzled by the "13-16 years of education." What does that mean, is it 13, or 16, or somewhere in between?

I think that is because they have "set answers" and you pick which is closest. I've had 14 so I chose that. I will go check and make sure, it's not something I would write so I'm pretty sure there is a drop-down menu you are forced to chose from;) Denise

Find out if your medical coverage will be good overseas. If so, mention in your ad that you have full medical coverage for yourself. Saying you know how to swim is great. Also list anything else relevant that would be useful, such as knowing CPR.

Great resume nwlady.. can`t fault it one bit but you say you don`t have a passport.. maybe it would be a good idea to get one as you might be wanted to travel over seas with a family as their nanny ,when they go for a holiday or when they have a position fill over seas for a period of time..
I have a friend who does just that , when the family go on the QE2 they take the nanny who looks after the children while they enjoy their holiday as well.. but other wise its a good resume and you will do well I am sure.. best of luck and keep us posted on how you get on ...

Ok Lois, I put first aid on there, I have "had" my CPR (2011) so I could just renew it. I do have medical coverage for wherever I am in the States, but will check about overseas. ty much;) Denise
