The 17 year just got her first drivers liscense and after training her for 6 months Im still not sure If I told everything there is to driving a vehicle. all the time
I did remind her constantly that "all those other drivers out there are not normal,you have no idea what they are going to do or what their mental condition is".

Funny her test took 15 minutes in a parking lot,it was simply to easy. IMO

My first test,up in Boston, was hard and I flunked it 2 times before I got my liscense.
"you didn't come to a complete stop" who the hell does that nowadays?
"you didn't give a turn signal" back then you had to stick you finger out the window and point to the left. That was stupid cause you took you hand off the wheel while turning.

Now the kid takes my car alone and I bless it with holy water for its safe return.
I REALLY,REALLY don't want her driving my car wondering if its going to get hurt or something.....sigh
 

LOL, true Jujube;) I think you either have a talent/gift to be good driver, or not. I think it's an art-form, LOL! I'll hope your daughter has the "gift";)
 

Way back when I took my driving test (1952), they put me through the wringer. Downtown traffic, parallel parking on a hill no less and many turns. I passed but I was a nervous wreck. My Dad taught me to drive and was a patient teacher. RIP Dad I love you.
 
Its always a worry when 17yr olds go out in the car driving for the first time ..
The first week my son went out we got a call from him, I'm Clamped and I need ÂŁ150 to get my car back .
well we had to go in to town and pay it for him , He did pay it back when he had earned it ,and he learned a lesson not to park in private car parks even if he does know the son of the shop owner .
 
We were lucky enough to have drivers Ed in our school, in 1953. I learned on a stick shift Chevy but took the test on my buddy's Ford. I had driven on farms that I worked for so I was able to pass on my first try. We even had to make three point turns in the middle of road and also had to use hand signals. Who does that?
 
I remember when my son first started driving. Each time I heard tires squeal when he was out with the car; I had to fight down panic those first few months. It got better eventually.
 
She should do fine Davey, as long as she keeps the cellphone off while driving. She's had a good teacher, now she just needs some experience under her belt. Hope she stays safe and all goes well. :love_heart:
 
It was nerve-wracking when my son first started driving, but he got better with time and we all got through it. You and your daughter will, too, Davey.:)

My son,now 51, has never driven my car, not even when learning (1985).

We swapped motor bikes fairly routinely though, up until I got rid of mine last year!
