Believe it or not; Christianity = Christ = New Testament.according to christian readings [see old testament]
Believe it or not; Christianity = Christ = New Testament.according to christian readings [see old testament]
not necessarily so! - "in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost" - three in one - if you're a believer then God created the world [ perhaps Christ and the HG were alongside him? at the time?] we don't know for sure having not been given all the details? - preachers I believe use the entire bible often when delivering their sermons - but they are not attempting to convert people to Jews but to Christians? However the old testament is still very instructive as I have just used describe how perhaps Islam was commenced - fascinating topicBelieve it or not; Christianity = Christ = New Testament.
read on McDuff read on - they are all interrelated well at least Islam and Judaism and Christianity!Holy thread jack, pun intended, how did we get from a revolting Islamic country to a Christian debate?
They're all equally irrelevant to me.read on McDuff read on - they are all interrelated well at least Islam and Judaism and Christianity!
they are what keeps the wars going in some parts of the world! They're all equally irrelevant to me.
That's what gives me the hab dabs.they are what keeps the wars going in some parts of the world!
I would rather blow my brains out.start reading the bible from page one very quickly you will come across cheating and then a brother murdering his brother? - I sometimes wonder if a God made it all - was this development accidental/intentional from the creator/or intentional from the other actors?
An interesting read, indeed. Thank you for posting the link.the religious perspective of the conflict in Iran
interesting read for the decerning reader - gives a fully more rounded picture - if we ignore the religious nuances in the whole ME - we do so at our future peril as does this thread?
fair point—nobody wants a 'holy war' in the comments section. We don't need to debate which religion is right, but to point out that the leaders in this conflict aren't secular politicians in the Western sense. Please keep this thread on topic.
The nature of the conflict has already been explained on this thread several times in the videos I posted and people's comments. Plus, it's been broiling since the late 70s, and started really picking up steam in the mid-2000s.the religious perspective of the conflict in Iran

I'm assuming you mean the objection that his comments are "off-topic."I don't get the objections to @smiley's posts. It seems like the religious basis of topic is important and others have commented or posted videos purporting to explain the same topic so why are his comments objectionable and?
It's all your fault, I said, thank God, you said, which God?Holy thread jack, pun intended, how did we get from a revolting Islamic country to a Christian debate?
Hmm I suggest that you look a little further back. It's all your fault, I said, thank God, you said, which God?
Blowing a raspberry your way.
then you will never understand politics in the ME?They're all equally irrelevant to me.
who's sam harris when he's home and dusted?According to Sam Harris, the reason there are few protests in the U.S. in support of the Iranian uprising is because it's a Muslim government against a Muslim populace. If it were a Jewish government oppressing Muslim civilians, all hell would break out with protests against "Zionists committing genocide against the poor Muslim people!"
There may be some truth to that.
Thank you for that update.Update
Coalition forces are in position and each knows their directive.
The US is the offensive force with Israel as back-up and support.
The UK will defend the UK, the Commonwealth, and Israel, and US bases in the ME.
Jordan will remain poised to intercept IRGC missiles toward Israel.
The UAE is poised to defend itself and regional military bases, and protect the Red Line. (i.e., keep US from taking off from their military bases within the UAE. They're tiny and can't afford to become a target)
In short…
Offense: US with Israel playing second string.
Defense: the UK.
Tight-ends: Jordan and the UAE.
