Most interested what citizens of other countries think.
As difficult as mining coal or taking care of Alzheimers patients, for instance? (Asking for a friend.)I've always thought that royal duties were a difficult job that they didn't choose but were born into.
King Charles, do you know he could do well to see what happened to a previous King Charles. For many the treatment of Diana was too bitter a pill to swallow and as for the King's current wife only the most ardent monarchists have anything positive to say about her. Whereas Katherine, Charles' daughter-in-law has more or less healed that rift, but at what a cost to her own health.King Charles, like his mother before him, is officially Head of State for Australia but the reality is that we get on just fine without him.
IMO, the British Royal Family belongs to the British people. In my lifetime, in return, the Royal Family has served their people extremely well. They are politically neutral in carrying out their duties, unlike Prime Ministers and Presidents.
Well, I’ve had a grudge against Charles for many decades because he was older, wiser, worldly, had plenty of girlfriends, and then he really used Diana.
He really did use her. I think it truly broke her heart because it was such a globally seen humiliation. She was so young and ignorant, came from a home of divorce where her father, who had custody, really screwed up his relationship with her mom and also introduced a stepmom into the home without even telling his kids he was getting remarried (the new wife literally just moved in one day), so Diana Spencer was very deeply hurt by these two major male figures in her life: her father and Charles.
Major betrayals of trust.
So, I am not a fan of Charles and never will be. HE knew better than to marry this young waif. He had dated a lot. So, he bowed to maternal pressure to just pick a random pretty girl and have babies, for what? To stop your mother from nagging you?
I like Diana’s sons, and I will always call them that. They both seem like very decent human beings. She did not get enough time with them, but she did a good job as a mom.
I liked Queen Elizabeth although I think she suffered from the Blindness of the Rich, which so many rich people have. But, she tried to reach out to her people on a regular basis and she learned that from her father and during WWII. I think her parents seemed to be very wonderful people overall.
On principle I don't like royalty because I feel they live privileged lives at their subjects' expense. There's got to be a better way. I agree and hope America never reverts to a monarchy. I don't think it would be a monarchy in exact words but in essence, maybe.I don’t have any opinions about the royals of any country; I just hope we don’t end up with monarchy here in the U.S. but there are forces at work trying to get it going (dumba$$es).
Would Meghan, Duchess of Sussex make a good President, rumours that is the direction she may choose. On principle I don't like royalty because I feel they live privileged lives at their subject's expense.
